I completely agree. The same thing in the 14th region, Perry Central drew Hazard. Those teams are arguably 2 of the best 3 teams in that region. Only one of them will make to region, I guess that why it makes it so exciting when this time of year rolls around.

Nice win for the Purps. Next week's showdown between Warren Central/Bowling Green will probably be the best first found game in the state.
-
Very nice win by Holy Cross! Their 1st round matchup with Cov Cath will be a dandy.

Henry Clay lost their last game, they should come out and win this by about 15+. Never know what you will see with his group, have a ton of talent but seem to lose games you don't expect.

If I'm not mistaking Knott Central guard, Cameron Justice plays for the KY travelers.

Reed sinks some FTs in the late seconds to win the game over the Commodores.

Good point. That truly doesn't make much sense but honestly I wouldn't be surprise to see Powell Co come out as district champs. However, doing rankings win/loss is a big part and since PC is winnless no way should they be ranked one in that district. I don't put a lot stock in cantrall's rankings anways, never have.

Should be an interesting first round match-up, hard to beat a team 3 times in a row the same year.

I didn't have any stats from him. Coach Spurlock hasn't updated his stats for the Knott Central game and the line scores wasn't called into kentucky.com
He finish with 29pts I believe.

I figure to see Braxton Beverly this week's MVP. I thought his performance against PCC was very impressive. Everything is pretty solid, rankings look great. IMO.
-
PCC might not see the region having to play Hazard in the semis. When is that game?
I completely agree, the winner of that first game district game will be the representative of the 14th region IMO. Yes, Cordia, Knott, and Breathitt all have a chance but I believe it will be either Hazard or Perry Central. The game between the two, Feb 19th.

Does anyone think these close games could help HC come post season? They seem to lose all their games by 5 or less points. (Exception Madison Central)

I was wrong on my prediction. However,I stand by saying PCC has the most talent in the 14th region. The Commodores dominated this game, the score is closer than the game truly was. KC really needs someone to step up on the offensive end other than Justice. Evan Hall is a nice player but struggles against bigger and stronger teams like PCC. Braxton Beverly was the difference in this one had another big game against the Pats. I believe he finish with 29points, while Justice racked 44points most coming in the 4th again.

I personally think PCC should win, they have the most talent in the region. I'd play box and one on Justice with Pray chasing him all night. I'm going to say KC wins by 5 simply because I don't put a lot of stock in Spurlock ability to coach seems to always lose a big game with a lot pressure on him.[/QUOTE]
His team won the WYMT Mountain Classic, defeating Knott Central on the way to the championship. I watched that one on TV. Perry Central had around a 20 point lead but Justice went crazy from 3 land in the last few minutes of the game and cut the lead to around 5 or 6.
Oh I know, I was there. JMO Spurlock has had servals teams the past couple seasons with enough talent to win the region (Sheldon Clark & Clay Co) but failed. He is mediocre coach at best. He did win a state All A at Hazard but with a team like that and one the weakest fields ever it doesn't justify a good coaching career. I don't mean to sound disrespectful or anything I personally don't think he very good at getting the best out of his talent. PCC has the most talent in the region this year, lets see if he can get it done and get back to Rupp. Best of luck Kevin and you're Commodores
