In my opinion, Alex Trentman will be the second best player on the floor Friday night. Great body, good feet, and a smooth stroke!

So you haven't seen Brossart play? Yeah, that's hat I figured.
I know it's easy for a lot of you to sit back and type out these grandiose predictions, but if you don't know anything about Brossart, make it a little less obvious.
Brossart always controls the tempo. Always. That's why they are what they are. I don't know anything about Montgomery, but it seems as if they are talented enough to win regardless of the tempo.
Montgomery very easily may win by 15, I don't know much about them. Other than they have a lot of talented players that came with Happy and a D1 stud in Prewitt.
However, I don't think Brossart's toughness or personnel or coaching allows this to be anything but a hard fought game.
Yes i've seen them play. Boring! Am i right? Yes I thought so.

I'll stand by my original comments. Scott by whatever. They will be in finals.
-
I have seen MOCO only twice and Brossart several times. I disagree. I think MOCO wins by 4-6.........I could be very wrong though since I have not seen MOCO enough..
MOCO was up 22 points on Cov Cath midway throug the 4th qtr if this helps?
-
If both teams played as good as they each could play, MOCO wins by 15 points.
-
This game will depend on which Henry Clay team shows up.
-
Well I for one certainly do not know that. Both high quality players.
Saunders is a good player. But i agree with BJ. Omar is certainly in a differnt league. Anybody that knows the game knows that. Heck he is a first team all stater. Saunders is prob Honorable Mention.
-
It will be interesting to see how MOCO handles Brossarts size in the post and how Brossart will handle MOCO's up in your face D and full court pressure?

No such thing as a cake walk when it comes to playing in the 10th Region Tournament.
I've seen cake walks in this region many of times. I could name a bunch, but don't have that much time to type.
I'd take Scott against any of the three teams in that bracket 9 times out of 10. Unless the bus breaks down, i just don't see them getting knocked off before the finals.

Montgomery/Brossart
Scott/GRC
Mont/Scott
Montgomery

Scott got a cake walk to the finals. Augusta is prob out of gas after that monumental win against Mason! Plus, they are nowhere near the team Scott High is. I think GRC will play Scott in the semi's. Montgomery and Bishop in the Semi's in the top bracket is the region finals. I think if Montgomery plays up to their potential they will win this game by 10 or more. If they come out flat, then it will be a dog fight. I think that whoever wins this game will be the 10th region champ.

New Cath is a lock!
Agree!
-
Held to 2 points in a qtr and still won by 17...Yup, no way they're a top 20 team.
That's what I'm saying!! Hello! That terrible team in which you still beat by 17 held you to 2 points in a qtr!
-
You failed to mention how many kids Holmes played due to foul trouble in the first half and left out the fact that the JV played the final 3 minutes of the second quarter. James Bolden on the floor makes a huge difference for them offensively.
If you don't think Holmes is a top 20 team, you obviously don't follow much basketball. This is the same team that put up 85 on Newcath, who is one of the best defensive teams in the state.
Coach Booher told me after the game that great defense was played and he played a lot of kids. Learning to win slow and fast paced games will help them heading in to the post season.
I know I can't believe it either. You can argue all day long. It's just hard to believe that a team that is 27-1 scored just 2 points in a qtr. Go figure?
-
I have been going to the State Tourney for 40+ years now. Be careful on saying they are headed to Rupp. I have seen teams that have the most talent and are the best, only to watch from the bleachers at Rupp before. It happens every year.
You are exactly right. Clark Co should have gone 5 straight years starting in 2008-2012. I think they only made it 2 times during that period and everybody thought they were a lock every year.
-
Sounds a lot like the Montgomery co game in the finals of the Toyota Classic. The Indians had Cov Cath down 22 points with 4 minutes to go in the 4th qtr. then an altercation broke out and MOCO ended up winning by 11-12? It will be a dog fight in the 9th between Holmes and Newport Catholic. I don't think Cov Cath has a chance of coming out.
-
Scott had it within 4, without 2 starters on Senior Night at Happy's Holidome!! Mason gave them fits and Brossart can beat them. It will take a great effort, but it is TOURNEY TIME!! Ask Duke about first round last year!!
You are correct but in both of those games the Indians won by double digits and they played as bad as they can possibly play. At mason, Omar played 20 mins (foul trouble) and scott it was Wallace's first game back and D Jones played about 12 min. So MOCO had their excuses just like Scott. But did win by 10-12? Indians are far more superior than any 10th team.
-
Holmes is 27-1 and their only loss was a double OT to a very good NewCath team. Holmes is a top 20 team!!
They scored 2 points in a qtr in a game against a horrible team. Wow!
-
Does anyone have the score?
-
I would not consider Holmes a top 20 squad if they are scoring 2points in any Qtr. I have seen GRC play a few times this year and its not pretty. This game had to be hard to watch!
-
Indians are coming together great! Tonight will be no surprise. The Breds won't be able to get it up the floor. MOCO by 20!
-
Does the team consist of 12 players?
Based on what I know, I would list the top 12 as:
Lavonne Holland-Ballard
Rusty Troutman-Bullitt East
Derek Willis-Bullitt East
Jordan Majors-Hopkinsville
Brandon Price-John Hardin
Jack Whitman-Lexington Catholic
Ken Jah Bosley-Madison Central
Dominique Hawkins-Madison Central
Omar Prewitt-Montgomery Co.
Taylor Gover-Pulaski Co.
Darryl Hicks-Trinity
James Quick-Trinity
Probably one big man would have to be added. Maybe Campbell?
Also, there are a few guys listed I have never seen, so I might be missing someone who would be worthwhile. I believe Tyler Robertson has had a nice year for Russell Co, and I've heard good things from Kasongo.
I could think of 20 players I would rather have than Quick. But that's just me.

The answer is no. Mason has hosted in 65, 73, 77, 88, 91 and 97. They were ousted in the District in all of those years.
With the exception of 97, both Mason and Maysville had a team.

I Stand by my earlier comments. Scott had a cake walk! Congrats to Coach Carr!
