  1. Ok that I will agree with if that is a shot of the ball still in the air. You can see her in the zoomed in shot just off to the left edge. At first it looked like it was sitting on the other side on the ground. They actually got it right. Amazing!

I want to rescind my comment about getting it right. After further consideration I believe they still blew the call. The batter actually scored while the outfielder was throwing her hands up. If it was inside the fence it was not a ground rule double.

  2. They were all taken continuous from the same spot.

The zoomed in shot is from the 2nd frame above. You can see the the black grid behind the ball. KC ran through the fencing as she tried to slow/stop.

At the time, I was surprised by the call, until I looked at the pictures.

  3. Sorry to bring this back up. Have been trying to post the pictures for a while but kept getting an error. They think they have the issue resolved. So this more of a test than trying to reopen old wounds.

The ball is on this side of the field side of the fence. Not sure if it went under or bounced over.

Not that it matters but if you remember the fence was knocked down...in the last photo with the ball it is standing. I'm still not convinced. Her glove was up high and behind her head when she knocked the fence down. Not sure where the ball landed but that photo doesn't prove anything to me. Great hit and great effort by the outfielder either way.

  4. What was the play?

Bottom of 7 game was tied at 3 bases loaded 1out. Everyone was in trying to stop run from scoring. Ball hit to foul territory behind 1st base about half way down the line. Right fielder made a sliding catch towards the fence and runner tagged to end the game. Right fielder was in no position to make a throw. Guarantee no one from this team will ever forget how to play that ever again. Good lesson learned. No regrets Pandas you have had a great season and have nothing to hang your heads about.

  5. Don't understand why they did not use the tarp. I know we would not have played today but the field could be in better shape when they play

Total Bull:poop: The folks at HC should have been communicating with the folks from NKU and between the two you would think they would have been able to figure out how to get it done. Pure laziness on someone's part.

  6. I think it hit her glove for sure because it only rolled about 15 feet into the grass. We had a similar play this year @ Bracken where we got called for interference for running in front of the shortstop as the ball went by.Kinda what happened tonight for there first run. I like the no call tonight !

Base runner studder stepped long enough to let ball go by her and then took off for third. Great base running on her part.

  7. Both pitchers did a nice job tonight. Both pitched good enough for the win ! Difference in game was a couple defensive mistakes for Boone and a couple missed opportunities on offense. Great season by Boone. Not sure the girls name that played right for Boone tonight but she made a couple of nice plays on D.

Could not agree more...right fielder made a play on NDA's first hit in the 5th that saved it from being a triple.

  8. Going off of memory from the LB13 texts:

Dallas Knotts was perfect through 4 and Boone led 1-0.

NDA went up 2-1 when they tried to intentionally walk Smith but she smacked a hard grounded to 2nd and it was booted which allowed the winning run to score.

I guess fastpitch requires the pitcher to pitch on an IBB unlike baseball?

I believe both runs for NDA were unearned.

Incorrect, 1 was earned in the 5th on 3 hits from the 6,7 & 8 batters. The go ahead run was unearned E-4 from Smith's RBI

  9. While Smith has pushed NDA upwards they were heading that way prior to her transfer. 2010 4-25 record, 2011 15-16, 2012 22-11 and this year so far are 23-7 but what you have to look at is the strength of schedule change over the last 2 seasons. Stephenson is in his second season and has stepped it up each of the last two years. There is no question Smith helped but they won 22 games last year without her. Stephenson is as much deserving as anyone in the 9th Region. He is going after tougher competition than any other coach mentioned here. I think we are all in the company of some very deserving coaches who are improving the softball atmosphere here in Northern KY.

  10. Classy move. :thumb:

As a Cov Cath Alumni it's hard not to hate everything related the the Birds as most of the Birds will understand. Its just genetic we can't help it, but I have to tip my hat to coach Coffey he is doing great things with that program and is a class act. Keep up the good work it hasn't gone unnoticed.

  11. What took so long for this to get posted????? I'm going to have to teach you a thing or two. :lol2:

Anyway, Congrats to Haylee on the PERFECT game. :ylsuper: And I agree with SoftballFan14, Abby Jones will be hitting quite a few more.

    Article from the Enquirer........http://nky.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/AB/20130416/SPT0302/304160151/

I'm only one man...between dragging, raking, mowing, trimming, fertilizing, eating, drinking an adult beverage , sleeping and going to work I just couldn't get to it fast enough.

  12. Smith pitches perfect game. Game was called after 5 innings due to lightning. Not a single ball left the infield. Smith had command of the strike zone through all 15 batters she faced with good movement and off speed to back up her fastball that just kept Dixie's bats off balance. Jones went 3-3 with a 2 run homer, her first varsity, a double and 2 RBI's, Rose was 2-2, Finke was 2-3 with a triple. All 9 of NDA's starters at at least 1 hit for a total of 13.

Dixie's pitcher, Garrett, pitched well and had good control. Only 2 errors were recorded.

  13. First HHS game I have missed in couple years (had a chance to go to The Masters Sat & Sun) Hated to miss this game but glad I missed the play you mentioned not to mention she missed a sign! Lets hope she doesnt make these mistakes again. She likes playing First but has a lot to learn! Can't make mental mistakes like that and miss signs if your going to beat good teams! ND is a good team and Smith is a very good pitcher!

You all are definatley heading in the right direction. Everyone sees it including NDA who knows as well as anyone. Your new coach is making a difference and it shows. I look to see Highlands on the top 10 list for a few years to come.

  14. Hmmmm, ok.

I was actually talking about this game specifically. I heard Smith pitched a good game and hit her spots (from the posts). That's all that is mentioned about NDA in the #15 posts.

They scored 8 runs... Who scored? Who knocked them in? Who played well in the field? etc., etc..

I was just trying to find out if anyone else for NDA had a good game.

My bad I thought we were done with that after all the talk about what colors we were wearing. Without the book I don't have Lawnboy's memory of the game but going back and reading the box score Meagher was 2-3 with RBI and Finke was 2-4 with an RBI. There were 7 hits total on the Panda offense.

  15. Now that I know what everyone wore to the game.....

Anyone able to provide details on the scoring plays?

Anyone, besides Smith, have a good game for the Pandas?

The Pandas have a 104-19 run differential over their opponents and are batting around 400 as a team. You tell me if anyone else may have a good game? I believe we have recorded about 4 errors as a team across 11 games this season. It's still early but we are on the right track.

  16. Well if this parent "knows" so much why don't they apply for the job. Totally unbelievable!!! :ohbrother:

Be careful what you wish for as it may just happen.

My daughter played for Brian in grade school and he was a very dedicated coach, she loved his style of coaching as did the parents. Brian spent allot of time studying the game and I believe he knew plenty. Any time you have a parent coaching their own kid(s) you are asking for problems from other parents.
