That’s my opinion and I know the AP poll will look a little different. I’ve been very impressed with Ohio State so far.

Ohio State has played a cup cake schedule so far and everyone is impressed. Please enlighten us all why they should move up in the rankings? I don’t see it personally. The team they just pummeled was previously pummeled by UC the week before. ND barely looses to a top 5 team on the road and will drop several spots. A game they were supposed to loose if the rankings are correct. You got to beat someone of quality to start moving upward.

  2. True but it's unfortunate that teams like Ryle, Cooper, etc. don't get the chance to compete past regionals because they are blocked by NDA year after year while less competitive teams from other regions move on to State competition instead. 9th region has a lot tougher teams than most. It would be nice to see some of that talent move on past the regional tournament.

Same thing can be said about girls fast pitch. There are always good teams in the ninth that are better than some of the other regions competing at state. If you want to compete at vb get more kids playing club at a competitive level. That is why these schools are so successful.

  3. Too many people want to change something and they have no clue what is involved. The last thing NKY needs is another start up league with too few teams that have to play too many double headers against each other. Chris tried to get the league in Kenton Co who was struggling to talk about forming a merger and use Kenton Lakes to play multiple games and increase the number of teams, a couple years ago. They were not interested because Kenton Lakes was too far. I've seen too many leagues struggle for too many years. Starting another one is not the answer. Chris puts in a lot of time to make this work and trust me it's not for his benefit in any way shape or form. Until you have done the work and put up with the aggravation you need to shut up and quit criticizing. Offer to help instead of complaining.

  4. Good to see a couple teams from the 9th region receiving Votes:

Notre Dame with 32 only 4 votes from cracking top 25.

Newport Central Catholic with 17 Votes climbing that ladder fast!

Its hard for me to believe there is 25 better teams in the state than Notre Dame! While Newport Catholic must have turned some heads in the ALL A Classic while beating up on their local opponents! Its good too see the 9th region getting some votes!

The upcoming Matchup between the 2 highest ranked teams from the 9th Region on the state level (Newport Catholic and Notre Dame) should be a (Cage Match) with winner take all (VOTES) so one of these 9th region will get all the votes and get into the TOP 25!

Don't bet on it. Notre Dame beat Sacred Heart and Allen County who were both ahead of them at the time in the rankings and then dropped. They did loose to Boyle Co in a close one the same weekend as well and Boyle co was also ahead of them in the rankings.

  5. ND will not be invited because they are not part of the Diocese, they have different rules, like playing on Easter week.

Not correct at all. NDA is not governed by the Diocese but they fall under them if that makes sense. They work together. NDA is like all the other schools as they are not supposed to play on Good Friday and Easter. Holy Thursday is sometimes a bit controversial but they can play. NDA actually has talked about hosting or co-hosting such a tournament.

  6. The annual event is on for tomorrow where St. Henry, Dixie, and Notre Dame all play each other to raise money to fight cancer. It is being hosted by NDA this year and it looks like we will be playing at 12:00,2:00, and 4:00. Infield was tarped and is just wet around the edges in a few spots. Outfield should be good by noon tomorrow.

  7. Couldn't agree more regarding lessons however when we talk about cheap bats and middle of the road we are usually comparing aluminum to composite. The difference when they leave the factory is minimal but as a composite bat ages it gets broken in and will perform better ( more pop), but an aluminum bat will only get worse. The composit bat acts more like a trampoline as it breaks in. I actually have an Easton Stealth that we out grew that is still in good shape. It is a 32 inch 22 oz. I am going to sell it at a fraction of the price of a new one. Pm me if you are interested. It is a balanced -10 bat. We have not used it much as we stepped up a size shortly after getting it. It has not seen hardly any BP or tee work.

  8. Sounds familiar but Brossart shouldn't be surprised as it was just as screwed up last year. Then late in the night they closed a good field and moved games to the crappiest one up front. Remember the NDA Bracken game last year on Friday night. It literally looked like a feed lot where cattle had been walking in between the mound and home plate. Mud holes were six inches deep everywhere they stepped.

  9. Ah, I was referring to the Custom Air Classic they have each year...it's May 9th & 10th wknd...7 or 8 teams...I'll give you a report on Sacred Heart after tonight's game...their pitcher, KJ Holden, former Cincy girl, is quite good and can hit very well.

Former Northern KY girl and a couple of the Panda's used to go to school and played with her way back in grade school. Great kid
