  1. Actually the player was hurt on a play where there should have been a foul called. He was after a loose ball and was pushed from behind. Not saying that caused the injury but the longer the refs let the game go, the harder the kids will play. I am very surprised that more kids weren't hurt (from either side). Both teams were very scrappy, both teams fouled, the refs didn't seem to see any of it.

  2. Can't disagree with the comments on the officiating. I felt like it was bad on both sides, with Grant probably getting the worst end of things.

#3 was carried off the floor after the game was over. Any GC folks have an update on his condition?

Going to the Dr. today. Will probably schedule an MRI but I would say it is ligament damage. More then likely his senior year is over.

  3. You have to feel pretty good about this Braves team. Shipp, Hurley and Hunt were solid tonight. Carr had a bad shooting night and Grant only went to the line 6 times. I believe one ref didn't even blow his whistle against Oldham at all (not saying that's why they lost)......but a 5 point loss to a solid Oldham County team leads you to believe, they're not the lowly team many thought they would be.

  4. I don't think anyone on here has said that a school is weak or a pushover because they are class 'A'. The reality and perception of scheduling numerous class A schools sends off a few messages. One being that someone is worried about the way a record looks. Another is that they want this team to have confidence in themselves by getting W's. This tactic may work when they go play in the district.

But then again, if you didn't assume that "A" schools are somehow weaker opponents, then the question of scheduling 19 of them would never be raised. Or in your words "The reality and perception of scheduling numerous class A schools sends off a few messages." How could a team get W's from scheduling "A" schools if they aren't presumed to be weaker? Just asking a question....

    Agreed!

  6. Grant County WILL NOT win the Sweet Sixteen or the 32nd District in my opinion.

You missed the point! I didn't say they would win anything! The thread is about them playing too many "A" schools. I was merely pointing out that because a school is a class "A" does NOT mean they are weak or a pushover! ex: Shelby Valley winning State! There is NOT a team mentioned in this thread that would have been able to beat that "A" school that year.
