  1. Define crooked?

If you simply mean biased, yes.

Intentionally misleading people to believing a certain political agenda. Using means to obtain information that subvert the code of ethics they they are expected to follow. Refusing to publish stories at the request of a campaign.

    "Act Independently

The highest and primary obligation of ethical journalism is to serve the public.

    Journalists should:

    – Avoid conflicts of interest, real or perceived. Disclose unavoidable conflicts.

    – Refuse gifts, favors, fees, free travel and special treatment, and avoid political and other outside activities that may compromise integrity or impartiality, or may damage credibility.

    – Be wary of sources offering information for favors or money; do not pay for access to news. Identify content provided by outside sources, whether paid or not.

    – Deny favored treatment to advertisers, donors or any other special interests, and resist internal and external pressure to influence coverage.

    – Distinguish news from advertising and shun hybrids that blur the lines between the two. Prominently label sponsored content. "

I really think you should take a look at the link I posted.

  2. Doesn't logic dictate that an organization made up of individuals who have left-leaning (or in the case of Fox News, right-leaning) views in their own personal lives will, whether intentionally or not, have that same bias come through?

As journalists, it is supposed to be their responsibility to navigate their biases and produce journalism in a fair and accurate manner. Also, to "– Avoid undercover or other surreptitious methods of gathering information unless traditional, open methods will not yield information vital to the public."

  3. I hear you, but who says the media is "supposed" to be neutral? That's not legislated (it shouldn't be IMO), there is no governing factor at all when dealing with the media. If you don't like what's on one station, change the channel. Every media outlet will have some sort of slant, and if you look hard enough you can find an outlet that will "support" pretty much any idea you can think of.

In a perfect world, all media would be neutral. But in every other aspect of life, who is 100% truly neutral? We all at least lean one way or another on most issues. Why would the media be different?

Journalistic integrity seems to be a thing of the past.

  4. I understand what you mean when it seems like people are trying to state opinion as facts, but I didn't take UKMF's post that way.

    Fair enough.

But back to the debate...what was the deal with the fly on Hilary's face? Was that actually a real thing, or is that a product of the twitter machine?

  5. Well, not only his opinion. It doesn't take but a quick search on the ole Google machine.

No your right I absolutely understand that everyone has opinions...I just think it is important to recognize the difference between someone sharing their opinion and someone sharing their prophecy. Saying that something "will happen" in the future, when in fact the results are yet to be determined, seems a little silly to me.

  6. Can you prove that 50% or more teams do zone block? What or how are you defining zone blocking?

Now unless I have been lied to by former OL and others HHS old line scheme was the most free flowing blocking system. They did all kinds of stuff you see in other offenses. The OL had a lot of freedom and just sorted it out. It was simple and elegant but it's not magic.

Can someone explain what they are referring to as a double slip on a 3 tech? There is no universal terminology in football.

I find it interesting for years Highland fans have told everyone to work harder. Over and over that was the response to fans of other schools. Now some are saying talent is down and/or coaching is the reason things are the way they are. This was never an acceptable response by other schools. They were just told they weren't working hard enough.

I honestly have no dog in this fight and I hope the best for all programs.

I'm not going to respond to the rest of your post, mainly because I am in a hotel room in chicago and having a great time, but I will say that up until BW took over "double slip on a 3 tech" was never even remotely involved in the oline vocabulary. Having played football in college, in KY, I met with many former o lineman from various ky high schools, and each of them said they did zone blocking. Ever team we played while I was in high school ran zone blocking. Not sure who you have talked to, but literally 100 percent of the people I talked to said they ran zone. Highlands did not run zone blocking up until BW took over. No variations of zone were used. I can tell you that with 100 percent confidence.

  7. Don't fall all over yourself trying to criticize and not use facts. Probably 50% of the teams in KY do not use zone blocking.

    What was he criticizing?

Also, I will disagree that "probably 50% of the teams in KY do not use zone blocking" and unless you can bring some "facts" I don't think there is anything you can say to prove me wrong.
