Very upbeat reception last night for the new coach. He is an impressive, no fluff speaker, in my opinion, and while he seems to have much respect for Coach Redman, he will bring a much needed livelihood and different coaching style to this program. There was a Q&A session, and his family was there too showing their support. Alfonso Smith (RB from UK) took a break from training for NFL Pro Day and drove in to also speak to the players about what to expect from Coach Wolfe. It was a very memorable speech. What a wonderful person he (Alfonso) has turned out to be, not to mention athlete too. I wish him much luck in the NFL! And much luck to Coach Wolfe and his players too!

I think everyone was a bit thrown by that comment. A friend of mine asked him why the ND comment? He said "because of the tradition & being the oldest football program in KY." Also, he coached Hancock Co. '96-'98, which were Travis Atwell's Freshman-Jr. seasons. Mark Peach became head coach when Wolfe left.

Yep, reception for him is tomorrow. I'll be there, so I'll let you know how it goes. I hear everyone is pretty excited!

They did close Macca's Florida Grill, but then decided to change the concept & just opened BoomBozz Pizza & Taphouse at the same location in Westport Village. As a matter of fact, their Grand Opening was this week. I heard it's a great atmosphere too for pre-/post-game fun. Families/kids love it!

You also insinuated Wolfe had not been working hard over the years toward this goal, & he has (many more yrs than Farmer has), & that he'd get it only because of who he knows. NOT TRUE if you know anything at all about Coach Wolfe! I understand Farmer is a wonderful coach, & I think they're all deserving, but I feel Wolfe has way more experience than Farmer to handle the pressures of a job of this magnitude. The Male AD has only been there a year, so his neck is on the line too if he makes a bad hire. Friends or not, Wolfe is a good pick!

Sorry, guys, but I have to defend Coach Wolfe on this one. I know firsthand that he left PRP abruptly due to a serious family/personal situation. Yes, he ended up opening a restaurant afterwards, but that was not the reason he left. The man did what he had to do for his family at that time, so let's quit judging him on leaving JCPS when you don't know the whole story! If chosen, he will run a respectable program at Male (as he always has). He's a standup guy on & off the field and will any school should be glad to have him!
