  1. So your saying 6 loses came for teams below the top 25 and they are still rated in top 20, nice logic? No point, no logic just more good all boy network. Just because you play other teams "Voted" in the top 25 does not justify anything, not to mention losing a majority of those games.

Unbiased, you need to go back and read my post. I said Trinity SHOULD NOT be in the 25, but at least they play a tough shedule.

Cooperstown made some good points in post #8, that I won't repeat but you may want to read again.

What other ways should the coaches rate teams?

It sounds like you think other teams should be in the top 25, that were left out, Who? Why do they belong?

I hope you can back it up, not just because you think they are good.

"Good ole boys network" Come on.

  2. The Coaches down state forget we have teams up here unless they receive a lot of press or go down there and beat teams...(then they rank NKY to justify their own losses.)

Example: Trinity ranked #20 with a record of 7 - 11 (actually 7 - 13)...... Ryle beat them 6-2 earlier in the year. Others on the list could be argued.

    Happens in other sports also.....

I agree that Trinity with a 7-13 record should not be in the top 25 but they have played 9 top 25 teams and 7 of those loses came from top 25 teams.

Don't blame the coaches from"down state" for NKY not having ranked teams, blame the NKY coaches for not playing harder schedules.

Ryle is one of the few teams that play top 25 teams. (they have 4 loses and only 2 wins)

And even the top rated team in NKY, Cov Cath with a 21-1 record, has not played a top 25 team. Thats why they are not rated higher.

  3. Q they have had one for years for the baseball team. What wasn't so awesome (unless it has changed) is the temporary fence that they use in the outfield, it is really sad, for such a nice diamond!

The playing surface, (new turf, no dirt at all), Dugouts, restrooms, area around the field including stands, indoor hitting facility, were put in last year. I agree it is sad having to use a temporary metal fence, but considering the right field fence runs along the 30 yard line on the football field, there are not to many other options.

  4. So who pitched? Who got the hits? Was it as big of a blow out, as the score says? Details please!

For NCC: Cain 3 innings, Callopy 1, Caudill 1. Lex Cath: Keller 4 2/3, Nauer 1/3.

NCC scored their 4 runs in the 5th with 1 hit, 2 walks, 2 errors and 1 wild pitch. A total of 3 hits for the game.

Lex Cath had 10 hits, 3 HRs, 3 doubles.

15 to 4 in 5 innings. All 4 runs, both errors and the wild pitch occured with 2 outs in the 5th. Plus Lex Cath never made their 3 outs when the game was called in the 5th.

  5. I think Woodford Co. is ranked a little low. I believe that team will not be an easy out for anyone in the 11th Region this year.

In 1 game, Woodford can beat anyone in the state with Hollon on the mound. But when he is not pitching I'm not sure they can even beat Frankfort, not much chance against the other 8 top 25 teams, in the 11 region.

  6. In reference to Catholic having played poorly, was it because Woodford's defense was tough? Contested shots are always more difficult than uncontested shots. I did not see this game but have seen Woodford play several times this season, and Hundley does have them playin tough Defense.

I didn't see it either, but it sounds like Woodfords great defense had a lot to do with Lex Cath going 5 for 14 from the line.

  7. Woodford Co. will also be have something to say on who wins the 11th. If Hollan gets ruled eligible they can and most likely will beat anyone in the region with him on the mound.

The problem with Woodford is, if Hollan is not on the mound that they are not very strong, they would have to draw the 2nd place team out 44th (Madison Central would be first)to make it out of the 1st round of the 11th or pitch Hollan ,then lose in the next round. They just dont have enough players to beat the top teams in the 11th.

I'd have to go with Lex Cath, return 6 starters from last year, pus a good pitching staff, lead by Zach Haynes, signed with IU.

Next would be Bryan Station, Great pitching staff, R Combs signed with UK, M. Bollmer signed with UL, Bollmer is also a very good hitter.

After Station, I like Madison Central, they return some very good players from a good team last year.

  8. not trying to be a smart donkey but see post #12 that's your answer. and between the 3 classes that played, Trinity has about 14 D1 players and it's about 7 on O and 7 on D.

I know T is a great team, but 14 of 22 starters are D1? Not many KY allstar or allstate(1st and 2nd team) have that, maybe 14 college players.

I'd go with the allstar team.
