  1. Wow congrats Zeke! I think I'm more impressed on how he handled the press conference than the football choice. Zeke was composed, professional, articulated very well and charismatic in his speech and going off the cuff to answer questions. Broadcasting should be in his future. Dixie should be proud to have him representing their school and his parents should be very proud.

  2. I have not witnessed any poor sportsmanship by any of the girls teams this year. There's only one black cloud over Ryle this year during the regular season when 3 sections of fans booed Sydney Moss the entire game whenever she had the ball in her hands. The black cloud is over the Ryle administration though not the team. Ryle administration (AD and Principals) thought this was appropiate. Apparently the Board of Education stepped in before the district game to teach Ryle administration whats right and wrong during high school sports.

  3. Great Job by Thad Moss to carry Gray's victory on his shoulders. All the success of that team has ran through Thad Moss this year whether he's scoring or not. His assists, breaking the press, rebounding and outlets and scoring; everything runs through Moss. sounds like someone else I know....Big Sis!!!

It was nice to see Downs and Diaw try to fight back and win the game for Ockerman, but too little , too late.

Moss, Downs and Diaw all play on the same AAU team. It should be a good combination.

    Congrats Gators.

  4. Ockerman 7th grade boys finally got their game together. 2nd year in a row that Gray beats this team twice in the regular season and then Ockerman wins in the district championship. Thad Moss played great but his supporting cast just couldn't match up last night with a very athletic Ockerman starting five. Thad was high point man for Gray with 14 and the next two in scoring had 6 each, Colin England was one of them. Nick Flesher had 13 for Ockerman and Downs and Diaw had 10 points each. Great game and atmosphere for a middle school game.

Great job by all the Ockerman boys teams. District Champs across the board!

Good luck to all teams in the Regionals! It should be a fun week.

  5. Boone County has had a very, very positive group this year compared to past years. Of course there is always one idiot in every crowd, but you just can't let that one spot of cancer that gets on here and dogs their coach or makes rude comments in the stands about the coach or players bring the rest of the group or team down. My theory is what I can't hear I can't be mad about so just stay away from the cancerous fans or parents and keep it a positive experience for your player. Boone is still trying to get rid of some cancer from past years that keep coming back even though their former player isn't even there no longer, but for the most part it's gone! We are about 99% Cancer Free! LOL

  6. Holmes should be praying they get this guy you call Chappie every game!! Do you know he didn't call a foul on a Holmes player until the final (2) minutes of the game. UNBELIEVABLE!! They mauled Trevan Brown multiple times right in front of this man you're calling Chappie and he turned his head. Holmes mauled the Boone guards time and time again right in front of this man Chappie and no whistle. This poor guy might have a good history of reffing but it definitely did not show tonight. Does anyone know where this guy is from or went to school? Please don't tell me he went to Holmes. The other two guys did a good job though.

  7. Great game and atmoshere. Only one negative note; the badgering the Ryle fans did towards Sydney Moss. Just curious do people think it's ok to do this towards a high school kid? Does Ryle's Principal and AD think this is ok? How far is too far in high school cheering? Put your 15 or 16 year old in Sydney's shoes and how would you feel? Apparently the administration at Ryle support badgering, not cheering, badgering. I lost all respect for Ryle last night as a school with this classless act. It's a shame the Ryle girls program will have this black cloud over them because of their fans. The paper even mentions it. Remember people these kids aren't paid. Was Ryle's Principal at the game?

  8. Okay, let's try and put this in perspective. I get it, the coaching advantage goes to Boone. They have a Hall of Fame Coach that probably is the best coach in NKY history. She is a class act all the way, so when does she not have the coaching advantage? It is a shame that the BC faithful continue to bash Coach O on here. She has influenced many female student athletes at BC in both basketball and softball. In only three years, the Ryle Coaching Staff has put together a pretty solid program. Also, how often in NKY history has two top ten teams ranked in the state matched up from the same district? (and in all likelihood a few more times this year) On Friday night in Union you will see two really good teams and two really good coaching staffs battling it out. It does not get much better. Good luck to both teams.

I don't think it's Boone County bashing Coach Oliviero, I believe it's her own Ryle fans. Coach Fookes has mentored Coach Olivero since college days and they are good friends off the court. Good Luck to both teams Friday night. It should be fun for everyone; coaches, players and fans!

(side note: Sydney Moss is in ESPN Magazine, this month on stands now, with a full page photo, and she'll be on the COVER of ESPN Rise Magazine in their next edition. Congrats Sydney)

  9. Chris Fookes was the star of this game, coming off the bench and giving the hustle, fight and determination he had with his rebounding and points scored. His energy to the team was a big lift with Brown down in foul trouble. We'll need him again down the road and it was great experience for him and the team"s confidence.

I have to applaud #44 for Conner. He did an awesome acting job to get Brown in foul trouble and the refs fell for it. That was his only job of the game and it worked well.
