  1. Mr. Seaver was principle when I attended BCHS. He brooked no nonsense. He held everyone accountable, both the students and the teachers. Myself and some friends ran into him maybe 10 years later when the "Star of Cincinnati" was running on a dinner cruise. My first reflex was to hide the beer I was holding.

  2. What has been quoted is partly incorrect. There is NO plan that allows hiring of illegals. There are 2 plans that allow for getting work visas for people from Mexico legally, H-2 (construction, landscape, etc) and H-2A for farm work. There are lots of hoops to jump through but one is you MUST advertise in your local paper for two weeks and you must hire any US citizen before you are allowed to apply for visas for migrant workers. H-2A has become the major source of labor for farm work in KY.

  3. Is that your flat bill? Mine(windstream) has landline sevice thatI don't use for 14.00 on top of the 44.99 internet bill

Yes - flat bill. They Are connected to Fleming-Mason RECC, but you DO NOT have to have any connected service to use them. They just sell broadband.

  4. I believe you are in the Bracken/Mason area? Try Altius Broadband out of Flemingsburg. They have repeaters on most Bracken & Robertson water towers. If you are "in a holler" it might not work, but we have used them for years and have had good service. I believe our bill is $37/month.

  5. Will vote on my way home from work. Robertson County has a full slate of canidates for most every postion (Judge-exec, Sherriff, Co Clerk, Jailer) plus the state wide races. On a side note, this is only if you are registered Democrat. No Republican races except for US Senate.

A topic for another thread might be why in certain counties if you want to vote for local canidates, you have to belong to a certain party. Examples would be Robertson, Bracken, & Mason are Democrat while Lewis is Republican. The races are settled in the primary.

  6. We went about a month ago. I got the ribs. There was not enough meat on them for a child's portion, let alone a 250 lb man :lol2: Wife's potato was cold and our server was way more interested in the table next to us then serving us. Needless to say, we won't go back.

  7. Now the bothersome part of last night would be losing to a team that you beat pretty easily earlier in the year. Granted Mason was somewhat hot but they got crushed in their district final vs Bracken last week. Same Bracken team Brossart handled pretty easily in All A region. How did Mason turn this around so dramatically ? Also in late December Brossart beat Highlands pretty solidly but by February on its home court Highlands came in and beat Brossart . That's a disturbing trend. Coach Feldman starts pretty fresh next year with a new test

One reason - HIGH SCHOOL girl's basketball. Just look at Bracken's team this year - 8 seniors - also a highly touted group. They beat Montgomery during the season, crush Mason Co in the district final only to fall flat to the same Montgomery team they just played. I was in a discussion at the start of the season and the concensus was that a team loaded with frosh -soph players rather than seniors seemed to always be a little more focused at the end of the season. College, jobs, and relationships intrude on most players as they get close to graduation. Just a thought.

  8. If the govt policed your milk you really think it would be more expensive than its current "market" price?

Milk is policed very tightly. The high price you pay at the store in no way reflects what the farmer gets. At the end of the day, it is the government controlling the price of refined products. They are artificially controlling the amount of refineries that can be built so the few existing companies can charge what they want and not have to worry about being undercut by new competition.
