  1. That would take way too much coordination to pull off. And there's too much going on during a play for someone to make the snap decision to say "hey I'm going get my illegal shot in now that my teammate has already gotten a flag". I'm guessing most Steelers didn't know a penalty had occurred. And in reality, what would doing so accomplish...at best you'll likely get fined.

Yes it would be difficult, but grabbing a facemask wouldn't, or knowing good well that you committed a personal foul and taunting immediatly after.

My purposal is separating unnecessary roughness or other personal foul, with taunting.

They already have the 2 unsportsmanlike ejection.

  2. Gotcha. I think the rule is a bad rule then. If there is a live penalty. All 11 players can taunt and it is still penalized the same. What stops another Steeler during that play from taking another unnecessary roughness before the whistle?

By the way this was ruled, it is as if you can only mark 1 penalty off as long as it is a live ball. So if you see roughing the passer, why not taunt, hit people out of the play, blindside hit, clip, facemask, and chop block everyone before the whistle?

If the rule was enforced correctly I am not mad at the refs, I am mad at the rule.

  3. I am one that seems to know the rules well, but something happened in the Bengals Steelers Monday game.

The illegal hit Juju Smith-Schuster put on Burfict. There was a live ball unnecessary roughness(live ball penalty), then an after the whistle taunting (dead ball penalty).

Rewind. Back to the playoff game with the same teams on 1/9/16.

Burfict made an illegal hit on Antonio Brown, then Pacman Jones got a personal foul after the play.

The difference that I noticed is that the game Monday night, only 1 penalty was enforced. However in 2016 BOTH penalties were enforced (30 yards instead of 15).

Both situations had a live ball penalty, and a dead ball penalty. Why was only 1 enforced in 2017, and both enforced in 2016?

  4. Several years ago, back in the Dale era, students weren't attending the games because they were boring. Nice to see the students supporting the team.

That was part of the reason of my original post, Highlands has now fallen to the point of rushing the field for Campbell County.

The reason the students weren't involved because those years the games were not competitive in a good way. I would rather see wins by those healthy margins, AND student involvement. They are not mutually exclusive.

  5. Seriously, complaining about students rushing the field to congratulate their team? Man, hard core in the Fort Thomas. Glad to hear the students support their team, maybe the adults will now.

Granted it is a bunch of high schoolers, but when you are 53-9 against a team, that doesn't seem to warrant field rushing. Again, I am happy for the win, but expectations are high in Ft. Thomas.

  6. I couldn't agree more

with everything you said. The next few years should be fun to watch in the Fort.

With that said, I really hope for the sake of the kids on this years team the dads can hold it together in here unlike many of the dads of last years team who had more

infighting and finger pointing and coach blaming than I've ever seen in here from HHS fans.

I have to admit it was pretty entertaining to watch but it was also at times pretty nasty. I really felt for the coaching staff last year. It got to the point several dads were calling for the JV team to start varsity etc. but again it did get funny and entertaining to watch too lol.

I remember people calling for Mueller's head in 2006. There will always be Boobirds. Losing to Campbell County makes it hard to blame them.

  7. I think some Cecil brothers started those years, maybe another guy too, Hudepohl?. Definitely wasn't one dude starting 4 years. I know for sure the Cecil that started in 2007 started as a JR in 2006 when the birds got swept by CCH. Also know for sure that Kyle James started 2001 and 2002. Between 2003 and 2005 I'm not sure, but wasn't one guy.

Correct. It was 2003 to 2005. I mistyped.Chase split snaps nearly in half his sophomore year with Brad Bardo, but Bardo was moved to tight end near the end of the regular season. Chase started throughout the playoffs in 2003. In 2004 Chase had apendicitis mid season, so Chad Hudephol started a few games and Chase took back over when healthy. Chase started in 2005 as well.

  8. I know Matt Mason was the QB for his Junior(94) year and Sr(95) year but I don't think he was the QB for the 93 season. In fact it was then Soph Duffer Duffy before the Duffy's left Ft Thomas. If I recall I don't think Matt Mason played his Soph season.

    92 Adam Crawford

    93 Duffer Duffy

    94 Matt Mason

    95 Matt Mason

    96 PJ Sauer

    97 Jared Lorenzen

    98 Jared Lorenzen

    99 Gino Guiduli(SP)

    00 Gino Guiduli(SP)

    Chase Cecil started from 2003 - 2006
