  1. Looking at the brackets, I think these four could be:

Central Hardin #4 at Henderson Co #1

Perry County Central #4 at Pulaski Co #1

McCreary Central #4 at Lawrence Co #1

Bishop Brossart #4 at Frankfort #1

I think McCreary Central has the best chance of the four. Your thoughts?

I don't know about the others, but I saw Frankfort and Bishop Brossart respectively, and Brossart doesn't have a chance...

  2. As a Scott graduate I can tell you the biggest problem is open enrollment. I can name off the top of my head 12-15 kids who started and some STARRED for other programs during my years at Scott. Given the opportunity to go to Dixie, or SK or even a Cov Cath or Highlands over Scott, wouldn't you? It's going to take a miracle to turn things around. The attitude at the school in regards to the program is extremely negative, and typically the best kids have their sights set on another school. It would take a class of kids who dedicate to each other, in their NKYFL days that they will stay together and be part of the solution, but the easier choice is to go to Dixie or SK and have a shot to be good right away.

And SK's recent success diminishes Scott's chances even more...

  3. Tired of outsiders coming in? Well I am sure there are a plethera of local folks who have been successful football coaches and are certified to teach and coach????????:ohbrother:

I didn't say it was right or logical. I have been here long enough to know what the people around here want/expect. I have been here for a long time and I am still an outsider. They want locals in every job they can give locals.

  4. Why is it called a graduation "ceremony"?

There are times during the "ceremony" in which celebration is called for, just like in most weddings.

It's not silly to expect people to follow established guidelines for behavior. It's silly that people of the "me" generation (which seems to be those aged 20- 80) that they don't have to follow the guidelines of the institution responsible for students receiving diplomas and for the ceremony itself.

Right, that's the question, why does the institution insist on making such rigorous behavior guidelines for one of the most exciting times in someone's life?

A wedding is before God and family, a commitment to a life of marriage. Graduation is a celebration of an accomplishment. They can't be compared.

  5. I have always understood it to mean you are not expected to clap for each person. (a big round of applause comes at the end)

What's rude is what they did at my high school, they wouldn't pause for the hollers, just read through so a lot of people missed their child's name. In my Undergrad he patiently waited (all 20 seconds) for the noise to die down, that way everyone heard.

I think it's silly that people expect graduation to be a solemn time, it should be a celebration of an accomplishment after years of hard work! It is not a solemn ceremony like a wedding. And it is silly to link the two.

  6. Jones is teaching through the end of the school year, and trying to keep the weight program progressing. The problem at BC is attitude and support, from every angle. A small county like Bracken might get behind the right coach and that will turn the team around. IMO it will take a local boy coming back and taking the reigns, they are tired of outsiders coming in.
