Somerset has played bad a times this year. From being 6 down at about 4:00 minute mark of 3rd Qt. They Quit. This is first time this year these kids have quit, Last night they Quit. As a Coach I could take a loss, but if my kids ever quit it killed me. Somerset must go back to work. Nice Game by Southwestern!! Good Luck. If Somerset can.t win the Region, I hope one of the other County Schools does.

If Pulaski plays like they did against Bullit East they are the best in the region. BUt that's the problem getting an effort like that every game. With that said, these guys have fail short for 3 years now and this is there last chance and think this is the year they get it done. .

 

Wayne is a tough place to play. On a neutral site, I give the edge to Pulaski espc with the added experience.

 

I think the regional draw will play a big factor as well. Will be interesting to see who gets the loser of SW/Wayne and Somerset/Pulaski and if there's any upsets in those districts.

 

I can't see Somerset beating Pulaski. Can't imagine them playing any worse than they did in the first meeting.

I said the region is Pulaski Co's. to lose. With that being said there are several teams in Region that can knock them off, on a given night. This is what makes Tourney Time so much fun. I don't think Pulaski played as well as they could have in 1st meting with Somerset, but Somerset did not play as well as the can either. Pulaski has a weakness in inside Game, that is Somerset's Strenth. When the time comes, ( I'd go with the size) if they meet in Regional it would be in Finals. Hope that happens!!

Nice write-up. Pulaski beating Somerset 5 at PC. Proves to me what I've said all year, the Regional is wide open and will be one of the best in the State to watch. All 8 teams that make the Regional will have a Shot to Win it.

That's a regional tourney I'd like to see.

Should be a Great Regional Tourney. I feel it is Pulaski Co.'s to lose. Any of the 8 making it can win it. PC beat Somerset 5 at PC Tuesday Night and it could have gone either way. The 12th could be one of the best in the State. Time to Start.

Butler County beat Owensboro Catholic and Middlesboro beat Pineville to fill the remaining two spots.

 

Interesting tournament. Doesn't Steve Wright coach Somerset, and good to see Carlisle County back in the field - they have a storied history in the event.

Steve Wright coaches at Southwestern. Jeff Cothran coaches at Somerset. Tourney will be interesting.

Bardstown is a fixture in this tournament and ALWAYS a tough out.

 

Region 3 finals are between Owensboro Catholic and Butler County.

Region 13 is Pineville and Middlesboro (Finals today at 2pm)

Yea, Bardstown with a Power rating of 68.4 will be a Tough Out.

NCC, Knott Co. Central and Brossart would have to be 3 favorites after that, Russell, Somerset and Clinton Co. would be my next 3 picks. Should be a Fun Tourney.

Just goes to show everyone the 12th is pretty Good and Lot's of teams that can knock anyone off. It will come down to who makes Shot's.

I'd like to see Burgin and Monticello's all time record in the region all-a. You pretty much know every year it comes down to Danville or Somerset. I've never considered it that big of a deal to win the all-a region eventhough I've enjoyed the all-a state tourn. and think its a great event. I think it would be better if they balanced the all-a regions instead of just using the same region alignment as the KHSAA. Some regions have mayne 10-12 teams in the all-a.

My prediction is Somerset wins but Danville winning would not be much of an upset.

I hope it is a Big Deal to Somerset Players. Has any of these Somerset Players ever played in All A State. I know One player it will be a big deal with, Mr. Tyson Williams. He told me last night he would Love to play in All A State, and I believe He Will.

I think Holy Cross may have something to say about that, especially with Seibert out. If Newport were to upset HC I think NCC would have an easier time.

Is Seibert NCC 6'6" Sr. player? How long will he be Out??

Somerset beat Danville by 8 pts. about 3 weeks ago. Danville has improved, still Somerset Win's a Briar Patch. Big's will be too much for Danville.JMO.

Who Win's and Why?

So why didn't they take it inside? Good teams exploit the other team's weakness. I'm not so sure Somerset is ready to be in the upper tier of teams in the 12th Region. Seeing is believing. Even when they tried to get it inside they couldn't make a decent entry pass to Tyson or Weddle. Bounce pass.....?

I don't know why Not?? Aganist Estill Williams had 20 and Weddel had 14 and Somerset looked Great. I'm sure Coach Cothran is asking himself and his Team Why right Now!!!!

I wish I could have seen that team last night. My opportunity to see them will be limited and that may have been the only time I can see them and could be my lasting image.

Hope you get to see them again, maybe they will play better next time.

I'll be shocked if they win based on what I saw last night.

If they play the way they played last night they will get Beat. But if the Team Shows up that Beat Jackson Co, on Road (without Williams) Clinton Co. 11 and Harrison by 18, they will beat Danville. Going Away!!

After seeing Somerset tonight I feel like Boyle County, East Jessamine, Lincoln County and Mercer County would beat them.

 

 

The only time they would play any of these teams would be in the region tournament.

Somerset prob played the worst game of the year last night at Burgin. I think you have them ranked about right. And like you said the only time they have to play any those teams are in Region. I know Jeff Cotheran pretty well and he will have this Bunch hitting stride at Tourney Time. If Somerset takes ball inside they beat Burgin 20+.

I expect a Good Game a Briar Patch Friday Night. Think Somerset Win's by 10+.JMO
