HC was the first school to bring a title back to NKY other than BW, CCH, NCC, or Highlands since 1983. If Koz doesn't get COY, then it is a crock. He built that program and deserves as much praise this year as possible. After taking a bad loss against BW, he corrected mistakes and took them to the title. COY in my book! The other coaches winning their district is great, but winning it all after a rough start is more impressive

Koz gets my vote

Somerset beat hazard. Hazard beat Mayfield. Using Spartans logic, HC beats BW by a lot. All of this is ignorant. HC is the 2A state champ. End of discussion. Better luck next year Spartan

Congrats HC. The D won that game for sure.

I don't think I would speculate too much at common opponents. Match ups with personnel change from week to week. I think that Glasgow matches up well with HC and this should be a great game. I think, not that I want this to keep going, that the BW game taught HC what their weakness was and they made great strides fixing it. I think HC and BW would be a very good game if they played again. Im glad they aren't playing again this year because all I want to see is HC beating Glasgow the rest of this season. Im predicting HC 28 Glasgow 21

I seem to recall the Somerset fans saying they have seen speed, until Beal and Walker ran past their fastest kid for td's. HC by 2 TD'sGlasgow kept up with Bardstown's speed, and has size and strength to boot. Defense is outstanding. Can throw it when they need to, certainly Bowles is an excellent target. -
Can we just put to rest the fan thing and focus on the game friday!!! Blah,Blah, much nicer Blah Blah. The way HC is playing, they should win. I am hoping Glasgow has improved too. I'll be pulling for the Scotties. A public school and much nicer fans. -
Somerset has a very good team. Solid at all positions and will get after you. Some really big, strong kids. I think HC might be a little faster than Somerset. Should be a really great game once again this week.

Cov Cath and Highlands play tonight also. Im thinking they might beat us in the post game bickering.....haha
It may be an All-time record. Don't worry, they'll make up for it in the post game comments -
I was just thinking the same thing......hahaha. Agree, good luck to all.
Is this the longest "non Highlands" thread of the season?? Good luck to all tonight. -
If you were at the Holmes game, who were they missing? They might not have had much confidence coming into the game after getting pounded by Highlands and CCH, but they had the same players against HC that were in the CCH game
HC has taken care of business against the likes of Brossart, Newport, Dayton, Lloyd, Carroll Cty. and a very overrated Owen Cty. team. 11-1 against NOBODY, a struggling Holmes team missing half their good players. Dixie is 3-8 against teams like Highlands, Boone, etc. McNick is a GCL team and would easily beat HC. 154-0, but against who? -
McNick would easily beat HC? I will have to disagree.

You have never been a coach then. That is pretty naive to think that your players do everything perfect and coaching is to blame for everything. Every coach has a gameplan. Your kids have to execute it. Sometimes your plan can be great, but the players on the opposing side are just better
I know I would and I don't know why anyone wouldn't. -
Since I wasnt at the Lloyd game, should the score have been worse?
-
I have to agree with you on that one. He was kinda calling the Breds out. Not sure why Lloyd thought they had a chance to beat NCC. Obviously they didn't
All I know is the players took it as a call out to the carpet, and they responded with their play on the field. -
Wasnt the NCC camp really touchy when the QB from Lloyd said "Bring on the Breds"? You don't hear anyone from the HC camp predicting anything besides a good game.
-
If someone scores less than 14 points against the defending state champion, wouldn't it be implied that this game wont be close?
"I feel like our defense has done its job the whole year," NewCath quarterback Brady Hightchew said. "I think we can hold them to 14 points again, if not less."Nothing about a blowout mentioned in there.
-
According to Hightchew on nky.com, its gonna be a blowout for them cause they will hold to HC to 14, if not less.
-
hahahaha. I don't think they fear losing just yet, but I hope it happens
Sounds to me lije the fear of a loss is setting for some fans. I know to many NCC fans that know a loss is possible for any fan to think that it can not happen. Bring on Friday. -
I agree that loss woke them up. They were a good team, but that proves on any night if you don't bring it you can get beat. I think the BW loss last year woke them up because they played great after that loss
I'm not saying it is ALL coaching but a turn around like that isn't just players getting better. It's a combination...not to mention that year that loss woke them up. -
I think Fowler and Siple should be considered first if they are considered NKY. If not, outside of Mueller, I go with Borchers or Trosper. Tney have done great jobs this year. Lickert lost too many games early, but had a nice few wins to end the second half.
-
I think it is difficult to blame everything on coaching and give all credit to coaching. The players need to accept blame and take credit for situations like that as well. NCC won when it mattered and took care of business. You can't give all the credit to Schneider and blame Koz. Sometimes your kids have to accept the good with the bad. Congrats to NCC for the big win in '06. I hope this year is different. We will see Friday. If NCC wins, I will still cheer for them to win state because they are the local team. I wonder if NCC fans will do the same if HC wins?
I will give the win '06. This brings me back to the coaching factor....41-7 in the playoffs in '06.

I completely agree. If you have watched any football throughout this entire year, HC was playing far better at the end of the year than they were during the beginning and especially the BW game. As I mentioned previously, BW exposed their weaknesses and the HC coaching staff did a great job fixing their problems to get HOT at the end of the year. This is why you schedule good teams out of your district in the regular season to get you ready for a playoff run. That game would be much different if played at the end of the year. NCC kicked HC's butt in the first game and HC outplayed them in the second game. Hightchew went down against BW and that was a very close game at that point in the second half. Hightchew played the entire game against HC in the playoffs and HC won. There is no reason to think that HC wouldn't play much better against BW if there were a rematch based on this evidence.
