I remember a 98 yrd td the wrong way...lol
You are right Coupon, it was the wrong way!:lol:
-
I hope you're right PureFan.... I could probably guess that Carter feels like he's picking up where he left off from the JFL days! :thumb:
I remember a 98 yard touchdown run he made in JFL! I would like to see a repeat of that tomorrow night!!!
-
As I understand it Reed left the team to play in a baseball tournament. There hasn't been any problems welcoming Carter to the team. As most of the boys see it, he was their's to start with. They played with him in JFL.
-
I never really thought that Reed was the right man for the job anyway. He is a good kid and all, just not as skillful and hardnosed enough for football. So with that said, Greenup will only get better every time they fight adversity and overcome obstacles. Greenup wins this one but Coalgrove is not going to lay down . Greenup needs to be prepared and play hard like I know they can.

These young men have been overcoming obstacles since they stepped on the Field for Spring ball. I am proud of the way they have stepped up and played hard. Most of all I am proud of the way they have matured as young men. They are behind Waugh 100% and most believe he will be a better QB. He is an excellent athlete and very versatile.
IMO Reed was not as comfortable on the Field as a QB should be...I am sure he is a nice young man but obviously did not have the heart or dedication to this team. We have many young men in our starting lineup that have played for 10 years. I remember many of them from the time they stepped out on the field for 2nd grade JFL. These, and others like them, are our warriors. They love football, work hard, listen to their coaches, and do what is necessary to get a chance to play.
With all that being said: Keep on doing what you are doing Musketeers, work hard, play hard, and you will see the fruits of your labor pay off big time!

:thumb:Just read the same thing, Most of those are Coal Grove supporters who have no idea what GC can do on Friday. It was the same people who claimed Ironton would kill Ashland. Buckeye- a useless nut. -
I know a little about Coal Grove seeing as though they were my school's big rival back in the day. They always seem to put together a big, strong team. On that note, I still don't think that they will be able to stop Greenup's speedy backfield. Greenup needs to come out focused and play their hearts out. No doubt if they play like they did against Raceland, they will for sure come out on top. Minus the silly penalties. :ylsuper:
Thanks Tomcat!... and I agree, if Greenup is focused and plays with heart and determination they will win this one and head into district play next week with another win under their belts!
Go Greenup

Greenup Fans: The Booster meeting for tonite has been rescheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday) at 5:30 pm. Hope to see everyone there!
Go Musketeers - One Team, One Heart, One Family!
-
Absolutely! There is no substitue for a good O-line. :thumb:
I agree, Graybeard. They are the ones we never hear about, they don't get their pictures in the paper or get talked about on BGP. They are the unsung heroes!
-
:thumb: Still I hope the O line has improved more.
The line has continued to improve each week. Copley reviews the game film and each player is given a play-by-play analysis of their position on Monday. Each player can see what they did on each down and what they need to work on to improve. They are also given a comprehensive "grade" (percentage) for their performance. These grades have continued to improve both individually and as a whole.
Keep up the good work Musketeers, the future is in your hands. :ylsuper:

The story of this game is the same as it has been all year for GC. If either team stops the run, chances are, they win the game. That being said, I think that Coal Grove's line is better but I think Greenup Co. has a much better backfield.
Waiting to see what Coupon has to say about Carter's improvement with the plays before I make a prediction. Still think that as long as the line "BRINGS IT" on Friday that Greenup wins this one.
NO STUPID PENALTIES!!!!

Greenup County is building up a head of steam with a 2 game winning streak. This game is at home and Coach has had an extra week to prepare the team. The boys have been improving each week. This one is yours Musketeers - go out and get it done!

Greenup County (2-2) versus Dawson Bryant (3-1) at Greenup County.

Yes, our family will get the shot. My spouse works at the Health Department and will get both shots as part of the job. Due to the fact that I have one child with health problems the whole family will get immunized.
-
Congratulations to Ashland. This was a big win and something to savor and celebrate.
-
Congratulations Rams! You played with heart and determination. Great way to head into district play!
-
WOW, Way to go Raceland!
-
Good Luck to Ashland tonight! May just come down and watch this one as Greenup is off this week.
-
Great News Coupon! With the boys off this week, I have missed talking Greenup Football. Do you (or anyone) know if the JV Game on Monday against Wheelersburg is Home or Away?
-
Ram summed up my thougths on this perfectly. I use "we" when referring to Greenup but don't use it for college level or Pro teams for which I am a Fan.
-
Wow. Another well stated post.
I wish the Raceland team the best from here on out. Like I said, perhaps this can be viewed as a turning point.
I think it will be a turning point for Raceland. Best Wishes tonight go out and claim what is yours!

I have a question: If the vaccine is "taxpayer" funded, then will it be given to us free of charge?
-
I plan on starting it sometime today.
-
Raceland gets back on track this week and beats East Carter.

I understand. And your kids played hard. Coach Copley has them giving 100% every play. I sat in the stands watching and told people how much effort Greenup plays with now. And when you run as hard as your backs do. Sometimes you fumble the ball. I'm very happy for your kids. Just ? why varsity players had to play.
The players last night who were varsity players, are as Coach Copley said, first year varsity players. Many of them "share" positions and do not play every series on Friday night. I can't speak for the Coach but I am sure he just wants them to get better, and that is what JV games are for, to get players more experienced in game situations. As the season goes on fewer of them will play JV as they earn and keep their Varsity positions.
