  1. I was once given the # 666 in a race I was in and I asked for the next number. The lady handing out the numbers looked I me like I was insane. I just couldn't pin 666 to my chest.

  2. If there are some other players as good as Gayhart, they would be #1 in the region. Owen will go as Gayhart goes.

Agreed. There are no other players as good as Gayhart on the team and none other who have worked as hard or put in the hours she has put in but there are other very good players on the team. If Owen's opponents think that all they have to do is stop Gayhart they are mistaken.

  3. Surprised at this score. Did Grant county play alot of players or has Owen inproved that much since then played at Walton a couple weeks ago?

Couldn't tell you if Grant Co played alot of players or not but Owen looked much better than they did at Walton. The game last night was tied 10-10 with about a minute to go so I would guess Grant stuck with their "A" team for most of the game.

I was disappointed that for $8.00 admission there were no rosters provided. Heck, I would have even given a couple of bucks for one.

  4. We were told by our college advisor that there is a strong push to make KEES money need-based instead of performance-based. If so, then only those that score well AND demonstrate a need would receive it. Nothing like taking away an important motivational tool for the students to take their studies seriously and do well.

Seems to be the trend in our society.

  5. I think we try and shove every kid in the same box, cookie cutter or whatever analogy you want to use so that we can feel good about ourselves as a society and we are losing kid after kid after kid to any type of education and creating a society that can't do the things necessary for life survival because we want to tell ourselves how good we are doing by having a kid take Algebra II that can't make correct change.

We are losing handfuls of kids every single day who can't possibly do Geometry and Algebra II because they can't add, subtract, handle fractions, percents, etc, etc, but we CAN'T teach them that stuff in HS because we are required to have them in Algebra I, Algebra II and Geometry. Every single cotton picking kid whether they can do it or not.

It breaks my heart to see us putting kids out in the world because they don't have the basic skills they need but we want to pat ourselves on the back that they studied matrices.

Well said. Why can't the powers that be understand this. It seems so simple.

  6. Kristian Morgan and Nick Brown, two freshman kids that played for the Wolfpack AAU team last winter and will be playing together this year at Gallatin County should not be overlooked. Both are great athletes with very good basketball IQs.

Where did Nick Brown go to middle school?

  7. Text books are a total rip off. Try sharing books with a friend or don't buy them at all. I once needed a Bio book which was very expensive and I had no money. The prof told me I could not pass the class without the book. Well I never bought it, borrowed it from a friend 1 night and got a B in the class.

Also bought an older edition of a psych book. The prof told me I would have to get the new edition because it was different. I didn't. The ONLY difference was the order of the chapters and a couple of paragraphs.
