  1. Some snaps. That would be it in my opinion. If he is at QB he could go anywhere. Plus the ball is in Harris' hand a second or two quicker. Makes all the difference for a kid like that. Look at the other games. Against Corbin, nip and tuck until he was at QB then bam in the end zone two times to seal the game. Vs. Harlan County at QB in wildcat, 4 TD's. Someone else handing to him, no TD's and not very many yards.

  2. Whitley will be fine. They may or may not win the Harlan game, but I can assure Cellking or anybody else, the only game they are concerned with is game one.....then and only then will they be concerned with game two....so on and so forth. That is what will make Whitley a dangerous team this year (and like years past) the coaching staff is only concerned with the game in front of them. They prepared their teams and have them ready to play. Only a dunder head is concerned with game 7 or 8 at this point.

Can't say it is 100% true, but I hear they have a countdown on board in the weightroom until the number of days to play HC labeled days until revenge, so those dunderheads can regain the district crown.

  3. I don't know the guy or anything about his coaching ability. He may be able to coach circles around most area coaches. But I just find it funny that high school hiring comittees are so impressed by all this college GA and college assistant stuff. Sometimes those types are the biggest failures in high school football. Completely different world.

  4. Not that anything is going to change but no where around here is there states with as few schools as Kentucky with 6 classes.

    WV 132 schools 3 classes

    Indiana 280 schools 5 classes

    VA 308 schools 3 classes

TN 375 schools 3 classes but I believe they hand out 6 Titles

    MO 580 schools 6 classes

    PA 598 schools 4 classes

    IL 760 schools 8 classes

MI 768 schools 4 classes but 8 titles

    OH 820 schools 6 classes

Tennessee hands out 6 plus a private title I believe. VA hands out 6 titles in their three classes. You researched some but not enough. Those aren't the only states in America that you listed too. You can take samples and twist them any way you want.

  5. The difference between most states that have 6 classes is they have 4 or 5 times as many schools as Kentucky. It's one thing to have a blowout when the superior team is the best of 100 schools, it's another thing when they are superior to 28 teams like Kentucky. I personally would like to see 3 classes with T, X, Highlands, Cov Cath, Ryle, Male, Bell County, etc in the largest class battling it out.

There are many states with similar populations that have just as many classes.

  6. If you check scores from other states, they are somewhat comparable to our finals. There are many blowouts. I was watching a Washington state final and the score was 49-0 in the middle of the second quarter. Sometimes superior teams are just that, superior. I think the KHSAA is happy with what we have now and that is the way it will be.

  7. And what would our boys have that yours don't? Sounds like new facilities are in the future there due to a very generous donation....That is fantastic news for Harlan (I mean that, by the way). Wow, what the Birds could do with that. The frosh dressed on the bus and stood outside this past Friday night during pre-game and half time at JC...Guess we should expect more of the same...No worries. The Birds will be there. You won't have to look far to find them.

    Go Birds...Beat Bears!

Not going to engage in debate about socio-economic theories and philosophies . I was not critcizing our county or trying to do it a disservice. I am from HC, and I can tell you I love this place. Definitely did not mean to sound as though I was downing it any way. As someone said above, the game will be decided on the field. All they'll have to do is look across the field to find us also buddy.

  8. Hey, there you are. I was hoping you would predict something else this week for Highlands. Maybe your weather prediction will be exactly the same as your prediction and warning you gave the Highlands camp last week concerning the not so special treatment Highlands would see from JC. C'mon man!!!!! Those guys were awesome, total class and respect for Highlands and its fans. It was almost like they gave us free reign of their facilities.

I am not joking either, they flat out took care of us. Go Birds 20n10

You won't get free reign Friday night (Maybe a little free rain). You will not get the red carpet treatment. You'll get dressed in a dungeon under the bleachers that will be wet and cold. Don't worry though. About 20 people can fit comfortably. Maybe your starters and coordinators and head coach can fit in there before the game. The music will be so loud in your ears that you won't like it. If you are lucky the sewage won't be backed upwith its remnants on the floor. Luckily, though if you have to use the restroom there are couple of port-o-johns outside the fence. Just a few things for you to look forward to Friday night. It will not be comfortable and will not be what you have been used to. Have a nice trip. There's no place like home.

  9. Excellent point. Everyone was talking about their great improvement. Marcus McMillian from HC has improved more than anyone since that point. He had something to prove after Dylon Smith's great game vs. Whitley the first game. Plus as you inferred, the whole team had a little something to prove. It felt as if everyone was implying it was a fluke HC won the first one and Whitley was going to come in and kill them.

I never meant that 53's comments won the game for HC. I was just saying they seemed pretty fired up when it happened.

  10. They had an int return called back. They had two blocks below the waist on it. One right before the tackle could have been made. They made their own luck on that play. Nothing else called back. The INT occured with HC very deep in their territory. The drive could easily have resulted in a TD for HC. HC had at least two breakdowns covering pitch. Will not happen this time. They did not hold the lead at halftime.
