I don't like how the Ad is getting involved and voicing his opinion on where he thinks Jones will end up! The kid has enough pressure, let HIM decide and keep quiet! But a couple of hours ago the AD said "Terrence is going to the University of Washington because that's what I heard him verbally say,"

The original reports stated that Cal called Jones. Think that came from the west coast reporter (Percy something). Today, he backed off that statement & stated he wasn't sure who called whom.

 

Again, even if Cal did initiate it, I don't have a problem with it. From what I've read, this happens all the time--kid verbals somewhere, doesn't sign LOI, & keeps getting recruited by other schools. What makes this situation different is that is happened within the hour of the commitment & also that it became very public right away.

 

Leslie committed to NC State & others kept recruiting him. Selby committed to UT & others kept recruiting him. Kanter was committed to UW & now he's a Cat. Austin Rivers committed to Florida & now Duke is recruiting him. I think Cousins committed to two schools (UAB & Memphis) before settling on UK after Cal came here.

 

Simply put, verbal commitments are just that--verbal commitments & not set in stone.

 

From what I understand, so long as a player hasn't signed an LOI, he's fair game. I believe the sports writer out west defended Cal in this, saying he didn't understand why people were bashing Cal. Said he was doing what a coach should do, or something to that effect.

I know the thread has been on here before about fans using "we" as if they are somehow involved.

 

I'm a fan of a different generation and thought-process I guess. Some view it as being a hater because I dont drink the Kool-Aid and look at everything though the blue-colored glasses. So be it. It doesnt and will never keep me from posting what I think about how we play. I mean how UK plays.

I do not know why you had to call this out in the middle of the thread when 99.9% of the people reading this thread knew who I was talking about. He put Cal in bad shape because the only post player could be Josh Harrelson if Enes is suspended at all. That is how it is a bad shape if that's what you were trying to clarify. And he put me in bad shape as a fan because I will be there watching that team with no post players because I am not a half hearted fan like most fans in this day in age. For goodness sakes still go to Reds and Bengals games and give them my money because that is "my team" hopefully I have explained this clearly enough. Sorry thread viewers that this is taking away from any info about Terrence Jones since the thread is about him.

I heard Evan Daniels from Scout reported today that friends of Ross and Jones said they woud not be attending the same school. If true, it's down to UK and KU.

I really don't understand how Eminem continues to sale records. Every album is exactly the same minus whatever celebrity news is current at the time. I guess it just goes to show how easily people can be entertained.

Maggard IMO is the best at recruiting info. He's cocky but good at what he does.

GT, do you think Selby is the best player in this class?
