Actually with Cooper .. I think that everyone (who isn't familar with the kids who are forced to leave their respective schools) will be surprised that the overwhelming majority of kids who play sports live within their current school districts.
At Conner--they are losing very few athletes from all of their teams. Yet--they are sending more kids than any other school. These kids just don't play sports right now (maybe they will in the future). But the current teams are not going to see a huge loss (and definitely not the loss that people keep presenting).
For some sports ... it would be a good idea to just play JV. Or, at the very least to have a solid plan in place that gives everyone time to develop.
Think about the Srs who were forced to transfer and won't get to play varsity.

What does everyone think about Andy Roenker of Holy Cross? I think if he can get over playing timid, he could be a nice contributor next season for the Indians.
I think Blake Trimpe will be a nice player for the Indians this season.
-
Villa Madonna has a few sophomore guards (juniors next year) that could be pretty good.
Bryan, Schuh, Schroth.
However, I don't think Bryan is a darkhorse for next year.
The other two guards did well on the JV level and will probably get a lot of varsity time next year.
Bryan will be good, but Schuh and Schroth will struggle IMO.

I believe Ryle should be place 2. Ryle's coaching is always consistant and their teams always battle for the top team in NKY.

Not killing them, but definitely putting a little more confusion into the system. And in the OF you don't get as many balls which is why i think he was in the OF. Shovers bat is what the Colonels are missing more than anything.
So did they put him away from the ball to prevent errors?
-
Maybe it shouldn't have.
It's a lose-lose situation for the Colonels from the looks of things.
-
I heard Lafever from CCH is playing, if that ankle holds up. In his own words "I'm all region baby.... if I play."
-
Freshman and JV shortstop the last 2 years. Started out in the outfield but moved to 2nd base in the 4th game due to lack of a real 2nd baseman. I expect him to keep the spot though. I was told the only reason he wasn't there in the beginning of the season was he broke his ankle in the off season and still is not 100%.
So he goes from OF(which includes more range as a fielder) to a second baseman? Loss of Shover is killing the Colonels.

Jonny Polgheers(?) from Beechwood will have a very good season next year for the tigers. He had a lot of playing time for Beechwood as a sophmore so I see him getting a lot more playing time. Jonny can shoot lights out so I wouldn't be surprised to see him put up double didget points in a few games next season.
Pohlgeers can help Shumate and the Tigers out a lot this year. He has a nice jumpshot.

Why would Cooper attempt to compete at the Varsity level? From my understanding, they will have maybe 100 seniors, and of that 100, how many are athletes? Kids that are redistricted have no choice in remaining at their current High schools, unless the Parents attempt to sale and repurchase homes in this wonderful housing market. Has there ever been a discussion of open enrollment in Boone county? OH yea! The good news is that Cooper named two golf coaches recently. :dancingpa
Teams such as Silver Groove and Calvary have about 20 seniors to choose from. I think that those schools would go crazy for 100.:sssh:

Very few people know about Eastin from Dayton who could lead the region in scoring, and I would add a the entire Newport team in here.
-
How did Hunter do?
-
I'm going to have to disagree. Doesn't Beechwood play schools like Villa, Dayton, Bellvue? Cov Cath has already played 2 teams in the top 10 in the state (Lex Cath and Henry Clay) in their first 3 games of the season. They also play GLC teams like Hamilton Badin and McNicholas. They play in Lexington against Louisville Male then back in NKY against Male again who is pre-season ranked 12 in the state. Not to mention they play West Jassamine who is pre-ranked 22 in the state. Another tournament in Boyd county who is 18 in the state. I'm pretty sure Strength of Sched. goes to Cov Cath by a LONG RUN.
Strength of schedule is Ryle hands down. CCH's is pretty good, but only thing that bugs me about them is that hole at second that must be filled.
-
It's tough to go agaisnt OCath. How many players did they lose?
-
Elliot only threw 2 innings against Ryle in 06. I know the Ryle boys can hit, but they would have had to batted around like five times for your son to have gone 0 for 4. LOL
I don't think he had a kid there. Plus one player he named was Robert Lane who's dad is a coach and a great coach too by the way.
-
He is average at best. I could see that spot still switching players.
-
Also who is in the 10th?
-
Yes ,I meant Lex. Christian.
To see the regions : Go to the link for All A ,click on member schools and this will give you a breakdown of regions .
They need to make that easier to get straight lol.
-
The ace is Nichols.
Yes that's it. I could not think of it. I heard he tops out about 90 any truth?
-
I would imagine he will be none too pleased about Beechwood dropping so far - and to be honest, I am a bit surprised myself - but they just haven't played anyone of substance to date, and have the loss to unranked Bullitt East (who is now ranked right behind them).
Of course, I'm not exactly sure what vaulted Dixie up the charts. Playing tough opponents is important, but so is beating them. Have they beaten anyone so far?
Well earned by Ryle. That tough schedule will pay off in the long run and now. But I know this will comeback at me but being ranked is nice but you still got to win the games. I'm sure Ryle will take care of matters though. Also what did Dixie do to earn votes.
-
What teams are in the 4th and 3rd region?
-
I can't wait to see what AirJordan23 has to say about this. I expect him/her to say that the state polls dont matter now and that the real poll is the NKY poll lol.
Exactly haha. Just messing around. Beechwood did it to themselves when they lost to Bullit East and can't do anything but try to come back up in the next couple weeks.

I will agree that Woody is pretty good.

9th region is Beechwood, unless Holy Cross or NCC can sneak in there. They are probably playing Brossart in the 10th. Can Beechwood beat Owensboro Catholic unlike last years Championship game?
