Musketeer Opponents' Record: 1-6
RAMS Opponents' Record: 5-3
I'll take the RAMS by at least two scores.

I am going with our coach, Mike Salmons. Raceland is a small Independent school with no industry to support the tax base, 62% of households in the district are retired and or disabled and have had less than 5 D1 football athletes in the past 20 years yet we are consistently in the top 5 of 1A schools. Coach Salmons has 2 regional titles and a finals appearance in his 4 years as head coach. So, when speaking of getting the most out of your kids, Coach has to be considered in this topic.
Agreed. Not to mention he has surrounded himself with a top-notch staff.

RAMS by two scores.

The Final was 54-19 Raceland.

A lot of defensive holes to fill as well.

Word on the street is these are just token interviews & Vass will be rehired. He reapplied for his job and will interview as well.
Also hearing that maybe a former retired coach from Wayne (WV) is in play. Wayne always has good teams year in & year out.

RACELAND Tradition-rich Beechwood doesn’t have the only state championship game experience in Friday’s Class A football title matchup with newcomer Raceland.
It only seems that way, with Beechwood seeking a 13th title.
Twelfth-year Raceland assistant coach Mark Lewis recalled his first days on the staff following a highly successful 33-year stint working alongside legendary Bob Lutz at Ironton. The Fighting Tigers advanced to eight state finals in Ohio, winning titles in 1979 and ’89.
“The kids ask me about that all the time,” Lewis said. “When I got over here, that’s all (the coaches) talked about. My first thought was, I’ve been in eight of them and they had not experienced this opportunity.”

Was 36 yards. The line of scrimmage was the 19 yard line.Radio said 37 yards.. -
Anyone know if Pikeville has a live video stream for this game, & if so, what is the website?
-
I don't hate to say it ... no, they won't lol. This isn't Phelps, Harlan or Tolsia walking through that door.I hate to say it but Pikeville rolls. -
To my knowledge, Raceland is healthy.

It might be a surprise, but saying Paintsville lost because they were looking ahead is weak. If they were looking past a regional championship game against a quality opponent then they got what they deserved. Bottom line is the Rams outplayed Paintsville. Looking at Paintsville's schedule, they only had two teams push them for four quarters besides Raceland (Hurricane, WV a 17-13 loss, & Hazard - a 12-7 win). Raceland has played a good solid schedule and had several close games with quality opponents so they were battle tested. Paintsville hadn't really been pushed outside of the two mentioned games. Sometimes that makes a big difference later in the season & the playoffs.

I'll take the RAMS at home in a close one.

PAINTSVILLE Gunnur Lewis had had enough.
Raceland’s sophomore defensive back had borne the brunt of Paintsville’s passing, and with the Tigers driving for the potential game-winning score in the final minute, Lewis did something about it.
“I just knew they kept picking on me,” Lewis said, “and I was gonna get one sooner or later.”
Make it two.
Lewis delivered two pick-sixes in the final 53 seconds to preserve the Rams’ 31-14 victory in the Class A, Region 3 final at Memorial Field on Friday night.

Pretty sure that was answered last night.

Thanks. I also have a high school teammate that's an EMS at the games. Greg Denton. I did get a chance to catch up with him.
Greg is a great guy. His son (Brett) was a standout player at Raceland a few years back (2005-08 football seasons I believe). His daughter was also a good track athlete.

Means more bad calls that officials can't explain, or no calls that are obvious.

2014. Lost to Williamsburg in the Semis. Can Raceland finally get over the hump? When was the last time Raceland made it to the final four?
