  1. Obviously everyone on this site and this thread likes the Camels as do I. The truth hurts sometimes huh! For everyone that seems to love Code, what are you thinking. You want your sons to play as a robot, to not have freedom to play BASKETBALL. what about the last play of the season in the tourny. guess what. they had never practiced it and it MUST have been a great idea to throw that in on the last play to lose the game. Look nothing against any player on the team because they played their hearts out and did well with what they had to work with. If the Camels have any kind of smarts, they will say goodbye to Code. Code Must GO, Code Must Go, Code Must Go!!!!!:isurrender: --True Shepherd Out
  2. To all who have seen yet another year gone down in flames by the talented Camels brought down to another losing season by who other than Code. When is enoug enough. I am starting the chant as I type. COACH CODE MUST GO. !!!! Lets go parents, staff, students, start the revolution. Do you want robots on the court, do you want a child who cant make a decision for themselves, ect. If not then Code Must Go. He has been given too many years in my opinion to prove himself and he has not stepped up to the plate. If you really look at Code, and see a game that he has coached, you can clearly see that he really has no idea as to what he is doing. There are a couple of talented coaches and directors out there that would fit the job perfect for the kids coming up. Lets open our eyes and see because Code obviously is not working. One more time. Code Must Go!!!! Code must Go!!! Code Must Go!! -True Shepherd Out
  3. Its been a while since I have had a post so I thought it was about time. This game was a very slow starter kind of looked like a Brossert camels game scoring wise after the first quarter. After that they both started turning it on. The Camels led by Jolly once again brought it strong in the second half and pounced on Beechwood and their candy striped warmups. Overall it was a good game for the Camels and I hope to see them go far in the tournament. One thing Code needs to try doing is moving into a zone every now and then. It seems like if he would have done that the last home game they would have easily won and instead being up the whole game, lose at the last couple of seconds. Sometimes teams react differently to the zone and this causes disruption with them causing turnovers and offensive points. Just a thought. Good Luck to the Camels tonight and I will talk to you all tomorrow. True Shepherd -- Out
  4. What a spectacular shot by the Sultan of Shot (Jolly)!! Unbelievable Baby!!! Though not Jolly's best game he rose up on the inbound pass by Wolfie and shot his 40 ft. prayer with a good look, and down goes 3. Camels win, Camels win, Camels win. You couldnt ask for a better game to watch as the Camels were trailing almost the entire game. They handled NCC's big man in the paint pretty well even though he did have 19 still. I thought they needed to play a little more aggressive on the perimeter though as they sunk a bundle of threes to keep them up the majority of the game. When the Camels charged they prevailed. When Wolfie drained the three to get them right back in the game that was a huge play. He posts up, he looks, he waits, he shoots, its good!!. Wolfie a huge three. Then here comes the great defense that the Camels always bring. Greg, Cody, and Jordan all brought it when they needed to as they all stepped up and all had great games. I was impressed with Cody's penetration and actually making the basket. He has gotten better since last year. Then Greg bring the fast breaks up quick with passes from Jolly for the layups helped a lot as well. Jordan knocks down a three or two and pulled his weight. Congrats to the team on a great win. Then with the last play before NCC got the ball Jordan to Wolfie, and Wolfie with a blind pass back and to the right to Jolly for the easy layup. Huge momentum swing and lead change. If I were the Coach: If I were the coach after this game I would definitely practice layups. I would put two men under the basket and let the player choose what side he wants to go to and force the contact or even have them just lay it up with a defender standing there. I dont know how many layups were missed that should have and could have gone in. More practice on thess type of things will only improve the Camels play and chances. True Shepherd -- Out
  5. Look guys, Lets get right to the point. I have tried to give Coach Code the benefit of the doubt this year but here we go again. Has anything changed since last year. Nobody on the team has any drive to want to shoot. You make a mistake, you get taken out, you miss a shot, you get taken out, you take a bad shot, you get taken out, and on, and on, and on. I am so fed up with the coaching of Code. How can anybody on the team build confidence in themselves or in their shot capabilities if they are so terrified of shooting the ball. How many open shots and missed opportunities can we have that should be taken but arent for some reason. Well that reason is Code. How many people did not come out this year from last or just didnt want to try out in general due to Code's coaching strategies. There are multiple players on the Camels that if given the opportunity to actually play basketball and not be a Code Robot, would prosper and move the Camels into the right direction. BUT, cant do that cause Code must be in control and make sure nobody is a star or taking too many shots. Explain this to me. How if someone is hott, and making most of their shots do you take them out or make sure they arent taking as many. People get hot in different games and he cant recognize that. Help me understand this as well. How can you take probably you best player being Jolly, out of the equation because a team is defending him stronger. Ponder this. John Wall for UK, best player by far. He gets defended stronger and double teamed more than anybody. Do you think Calipari should take him out of the equation and stand him near half court, or not let him make things happen??? Are you crazy!!!! If he did this he would be fired ASAP. Code needs to let certain players or even all of them play basketball and creat space and opportunity by themselves. And also do this without thinking in the back of their minds, uh oh, if I miss this I might get taken out. I do give Coach credit for the defensive play but you cant win games on defense. You have to put the ball through the hoop to win a game becasue the most points win. If I were the coach: If I were the coach I would truly have a team meeting, ask the players what their thoughts were and how they would like to play the game. If they say how their playing is fine then so be it. But there is no way with permission to speak freely without consequences that every player on that team wouldnt say something. I understand spectators reading this may think this is crazy but why not at least see what your own team thinks. They might just have a good idea or play better if they know the coach is behind them. Let the boys play basketball without the fear and you will see the Camels light up. True Shepherd -- Out
  6. Another great game put on by the Camels. From the opening tipoff, to the last foul shots, the Camels put together a great display of defense and offense. Jolly started things out in the first half with about 10 points with some help from Jordan. They all had great ball movement around the perimeter and had some good opportunities. With the two big men that Dixie had down low they were up for a big challenge as the Camels cannot compete with the weight advantage or the height advantage that the two Dixie players had. But with a stong effort by Wolfie and Jolly, the Camles came out on top. Down 5 at half the Camels came out strong and came back quick and were shooting well. With my post last week about Wolfie not pulling his weight, I retract all previous statements. Wolfie was the MVP of this game hands down. If Im not mistaken he had a double double with 10 rebounds and 11 points. He dominated the big men in the second half in a physical match in the paint allowing the Camels to win the game. Congrats to the Camels for this win. They played very intesely and aggressive and came together as a team when they needed to. Jordan came on strong with some takes to the hole and also made the foul shots at the end to keep the Camels in the lead. Coach Code I am impressed with this win and have to say that so far this year I am pleased with your coaching. If I were the Coach: If I were the coach I would have to reconsider a couple of things for the next game. I think that I would hold back or change up the mass substitutions all at once. When the players are on a roll and jelling together I dont think it is a good coaching decision to take out four players and replace them. I would rather see one or two at a time to see how they work together while the others rest. One other thing that I would for sure change since it is early and I hate to pick out players but Brady Kennedy cannot inbound the ball at all. Put someone else on the inbound throw in and you wont have to burn through all your timeouts. Last but not least is, Im not sure if it is a play or what, but, Why does he have Jolly out near mid court for so long instead of getting in the mix up by a three or even underneath.?? I just cant figure out why your best player is standing near med court on so many plays. So once again great win and great game for the Camels. Keep the wins coming. True Shepherd -- Out
  7. Hey guys, After seeing last nights game, it was like watching the New Orleans Saints play the Cleveland Browns. It is just a team out their league of play. Campbell County was obviously the aggressor and the superior team last night. Not to throw Calvary under the bus because they always give it their best and try to put some stronger teams on their schedule to get better. So kudos to them. As for the Camels, with the amount that the starters played, I was actually quite suprised with the competitiveness and urgency that the boys played with. Jordan and Greg were up and down the court and like I said last week, they were actually penetrationg and challenging the paint to creat some good layups. I was also happy with the fact the the rest of the team stepped up and were shooting well. The defense was persistent as well and everyone played well. Coach Code: Good win! I am pleased with the coaching last night going up against a non challenging opponent. I liked that he played the second string players and gave them a chance to show what they can do as well. This will just help them in the long run in case people get into foul trouble and also show if someone else might get a starting opportunity when it counts. If I were the Coach: If I were the coach I would definitely look at the starting team. Not to pick on any one player but we need to put the best player out on the court. Alex has been playing for two games now with 0 points. I understand he is a very energized and aggressive player, but maybe if someone else is in there we can actually capitalize and put more points on the board. 8. Hey guys, To answer everyone of your numbers redcross:1. my opinions are my opinions only not fact, that is what this site is for; 2. I do not play, experienced; 3. Control over CC basketball is up for discussion; 4. Is Jolly worth double the clout? Watch Sandlot then get back to me. And your right he really isn't worth double, he's worth TRIPLE!!;5. Maybe he should try. Did you experience the Holmes game last year. Real good game. He made them hold the ball at mid court the whole time. That sound like a great game plan for high school kids. And to Grych- I understand Code is newer and I am trying to give him a shot and like I said earlier I will continue to try again this year. We will see how he does as the season moves on. 9. Just a short introduction of myself. I am a first time member but a long time viewer of the Camels Basketball team. My screenname is (true) which means I am going to bring to you all true opinions and not blow any smoke. The second part (shepherd) means that I will guard and protect the Camels and hopefully make them a better team in the longrun or at least maybe for just one game. Let's get right to it. I am going to come into this season with an open mind and try to be as true in my opinions as I can be. I have seen Coach Code for three years now and every year is a rough one. Like I said I will give him another shot this year to coach basketball. At the first game I do have to give him some credit. He tried at the cost of looking desperate, everything in his power to keep time on the clock while Jolly was out with bleeding fingers. I can see why he would want to do this with (Jolly) 25 points in the game and missing about 4 minutes of total time, this will let any team back in the game. All we can do is hope Code can grasp the fundamentals of basketball this year. Who is this Jolly player??? Brady Jolly is nothing greater than the "sultan of shot, the colossus of clout, the colossus of clout, the great Jollino" (sandlot, too much??) Anyway, he is what the Camels need to win some games this year. Not saying that the rest of the team aren't a help but you all saw the first game and listened to the crowd shouting "get it to Brady". He will obviously have his off days as everyone does so the team needs to step up and get something going behind him. If I were the Coach: I like to call this part "If I were the Coach" because I can criticize and give my opinions on what the Camels might try doing next time. --How about having Jordan or anybody for that matter penetrate to the basket. We haven't seen this in the Code era. Lets have someone penetrate and dish it out for a wide open three or, here's an idea, take it to the house and you get an easy layup or a foul even. This is where I would start since we really have no height advantages for the most part and dont have the best talent this year. You have got to make plays happen and create opportunities. For this post until the next. True Shepherd -- Out
