  1. Did I mention specific players in my posts? No. I think my point was that the KABC vote carries to much weight in individual recognition and allstar team selections. OK, I'm done!
  2. Refer to Post #13 quoted above. 16 Slots determined by KABC Regional POY = 24 Slots Left 10 Slots determined by coaches ballot (Aren't these the same coaches that vote KABC? Why would/should you expect their vote to be different from the POY vote?) = 14 Slots Left 10 Slots determined by media ballot (Who is the media? Over 16 regions?) = 4 Slots Left 4 Slots determined by Allstar team coaches (Maybe I have a chance.) By my claculations, 65% of this is tied to coach voting. If I'm not a Regional POY, I've got 24 slots across 16 regions left to get a tryout. If I'm not the POY or runner up, I better be a media favorite or have really impressed the coach that happens to coaching the allstar team. How am I wrong?
  3. The real joke is to realize how much stems from this KABC vote. My education via BGP Threads over the last few weeks show me that the following all hinge upon this vote: 1. Regional POY 2. KHSAA State East-West Allstar Team 3. KY-IN Allstar Team A player that gets overlooked, looked over, looked past, etc. Gets the wound now and gets the salt later. Bottom line is that an individual's stats career or year, character on the floor, character off the floor, contribution to the team, success in district, success in region, success at state, MVP's and so on don't really amount to a hill of beans. What really matters is how many votes you get at the KABC.
  4. One and only one, very definitive post entered in this thread. If we can take this statement as FACT, then how were players selected from teams who were at the state tournament but not playing in the championship? Was there a committee at the tournament looking for players to fill out the all-star teams? Did the coaches of the East and West teams get to pick who they wanted to fill out the teams? Did the coach of each team attending the state tournament get to nominate a player from their team to represent in case they were not invovled in the championship? Try as I might, no matter what the mechanism, I can't come up with a scenario that would explain the whole question posed by this thread. Some things happen in life that you look at and can never really make sense of. No explaination will ever be given that will justify this in the minds of those who know what would have been RIGHT! NUF SAID!
  5. Good post 3ptshooter. I think this quoted statement is one that everybody should be able to agree on. Ignorant - lacking knowledge or comprehension of the thing specified
  6. Head-to-Head on Saturday, March 10th - There was no doubt!
  7. To those with an actual vote... Look at the whole state before making up your minds. There is a nice bit of Kentucky soil east of Winchester! Emily Queen - Rose Hill Christian School Career #'s - Awesome Back-to-Back 64th District Champs (No MVP Awarded - All Tournament Team) Back-to-Back 16th Region Champs (Tournament MVP) 2006 State Runners-Up Returning to make another run at the top
  8. WAY TO GO LADY ROYALS! Due respect goes out to the Lady Devils. They played hard all game long and left nothing on the floor. Great effort. IMO, I saw Kentucky Miss Basketball 2007 play tonight at Morehead State! Great effort Royals! You could tell they came to play!
  9. Listened to this game on the radio while traveling back from Morehead. Great game to listen to, wish I could have watched. Sounds like both teams left everything on the floor. Hold your heads high for your effort and be proud of everything accomplished. I appreciate the availability of local radio coverage for these games. I enjoyed listening.
  10. Great effort Lady Royals. Now rest and get pumped for Friday. Point of interest: Royals JV girls took the court with 3:01 left in the game and a 19 point advantage. Game ends with a 19 point advantage.:thumb:
  11. Was it just me, or did I see Kayla Faulkner run through the Rose Hill launch line just before starting lineups. Good to see kids come back and support their highschool teams and teammates.
  12. Great team play continues to serve the Lady Royals well. Both teams came to play tonight. Nice game to watch. Surprise, but it consisted mainly of basketball. Well, and some anxious and suspenseful moments concerning one stubborn net. Keep it up Lady Royals, we're with you all the way!
  13. I'm with SpinDoc on this! This team seems to have found a groove and is playing very well. Make us travel to watch you finish out this year! Of course, Emily will continue to sport royal blue as she moves on the the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders. When can I get tickets?
  14. Both teams with "hair on fire". Great game to watch. Personally, I like this type of tempo for the Royals. Multiple weapons displayed tonight by RH.
