STRIKE3 Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Final in Paintsville Tiger Hoops Classic JD VanHoose 20pts - 7 rbs Landson Slone 18pts - 8 rbs Blake Bundy 12pts Daniel Pugh 11pts Shane Grimm 8pts (Paintsville Tigers) Danny DiGenova 29pts Ahmad Aiken 12pts (Hilton Head, SC Seahawks) Game #7
Nothingbutnet Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Great game for the Tigers!! Paintsville was extremely sloppy in the second quarter, losing I believe a 9 or 11 point lead at one point to be down 1 at halftime. But the Tigers played very good ball in the 1st, 3rd and 4th quarters! Bundy finally shot the ball very well in a game, and this makes him a very dangerous player when he can do that. Hilton Head just seemed flat! Best win for Paintsville all year! Very good officiating by the refs for both teams and good sportsmanship!
brave ulysses Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Paintsville looked sloppy alright. This team doesnt have a snowball's chance in the region if they play this kind of game. Grimm has no control and Williams doesnt know wheat to do with the ball. Put pressure D on Slone and he's done. This year could be a major disappointment for the Tiger fans. Guess a wins a win though but they sure dont look like a championship team at this point. Good thing Hilton Head was "flat".
napster Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 The Lexington Herald Leader box scores showed JD VanHoose with 19 points. I read that and remembered how key he was to the Tigers' victory over Magoffin County. If JD keeps producing like this, Paintsville will be very tough to beat! Congratulations Tigers ! :ylsuper:
Nothingbutnet Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Luckily for Paintsville, JD got hot in the 2nd half! JD nor Landon couldn't put one in the tub in the first half. Blake Bundy kept them in the game during the first half, then JD and Landon, and just about everyone else was on fire in the second half! HH just quit at the end! But I agree that they have some work to do if they want to win the Region! I don't know whether the fact that they have as many coaches on the bench as players has anything to do with it or not?? :sssh:
