Boone County 51 Bishop Brossart 34

"Nothing is as good as it seems. Nothing is as bad as it seems. Reality lies somewhere in the middle." Those are the words of former college and professional football coach and now TV commentator Lou Holtz.

In reality the Lady 'Stangs of Brossart fought hard, played hard and with just 6:31 remaining were within 8 points of the 9th Region's Number 1 Ranked team Boone County at 41-33 before eventually falling 51-34 at Seither Center Tuesday evening.

The good lies within the fact that they outrebounded a bigger more physical and older experienced Boone squad 38-37, held a top ranked team almost ten points under their season average offensively. They also dominated in points off the bench scoring 19 to just 6 for Coach Fookes charges.

They also did a great job on Senior Lady Rebel standout Sydney Moss who has verbally committed to the University of Florida in the SEC. Moss, who had tossed in 38 and 34 her last two games was held to 17 on Tuesday. Lydia Nash stepped up for Boone though tossing in a season high 14.

Coach Feldmann's team has another rough encounter at the foul line converting just 6 of 19 from the charity stripe. That's 11 of 38 in the two losses. They committed 20 turnovers and were outshot 44.4% to 27.7% from the field.

Still it was a good effort against a team, now 4-1, that many feel can make a run at the KHSAA State Championship in March.

Sophomore Alex Roberts had a nice game for the women of Feldmann with a 10 point 5 rebound effort in 18 minutes of play. Sophomore Sarah Futscher had 11 rebounds to pace both teams.

The junior varsity team lost 45-37 despite a nice 15 point effort by Morgan Verst nad 6 from Megan Dierig.

The freshmen team defeated Boone County 36-34 led by 8th Grader Abby King with 10 points and 9 from 8th Grader Emily Schultz.

The positive for Boone is that their starters out scored Brossarts starters 45 to 15. Congrats to the Lady Rebels.

There is an awful lot to be positive about right now for the lady rebels. Also things to positive about for a reemerging lady mustangs program. Fun game to watch.
