Covington Holy Cross is a legit contender for the 9th Region Title?

I have been extremely impressed with the Indians early on and it looks like they will have a very deep talented team this year. They now have that missing ingredient in the 6'8 Campbell kid who can obviously play. I think this team can give Dixie fits due to having Campbell in the middle and several scoring options on the perimeter with Burger, McClendon, Pouncy, and Thompson. Avery is a crafty point guard who will likely lead the Region in assists. Fuller will be a tough defender for the Indians. I think these guys are my early sleeper in the Region. I know there is plenty of season to play out but they seem to have a more complete team this year. Burger is also playing much better and shooting much better than last season.

Coach Goetz has to be very pleased. Any thoughts on this group?

I agree. Talent wise, they match up with anyone in the regoin. They have been playing without 2 year starter Kyle Fuller and should just get better when he gets back this week. Add to that ,Cambell has had only 10 days of practice. Thompson, Burger and Mclendon's play has been impressive so far. Once they get everyone back, they will be one of the top teams to beat!
