Huge big district game for both teams. GRC lost a hearbreaker to Lafayette 22-19. While Tates Creek lost to Madison Central 39-14. Your thoughs and predictions on the outcome of this game.

This will be a good game. Two well matched teams but GRC will pull out the win.

Clark Co. 21-14.

Prep Football: Cards eye runner-up slot in district

http://www.centralkynews.com/winchestersun/sports/ws-prep-football-cards-eye-runnerup-slot-in-district-20111013,0,2328543.story

Plenty will be at stake for the George Rogers Clark football team in its home finale.

The Cardinals will honor their 16 seniors, but more importantly, seek to end a five-game losing streak and remain in contention for at least a runner-up finish in the district. A win over Tates Creek would solidify the team’s chances for a home playoff game when the two teams meet Friday night at Cardinal Stadium. Clark closes out the district schedule on Oct. 21 at Madison Central.

We need to beat Tates Creek and Madison Central to get a home playoff game,” he said. “Hopefully we’ll have another game at home for us, but we’ll have to wait and see on that. It’s a big game for us.”

Clark suffered a 22-19 loss to Lafayette in its district opener last week, while the Commodores dropped a 39-14 loss to Madison Central. Like the Cards, Tates Creek has struggled this season and brings a 3-5 mark into the contest. The Commodores have lost three of their past four games.
