With tryout season almost over is there any girls from NKY changing summer teams or stepping up to play at a higher level.

I have a question for you softball guys. Just reading some of your guys posts, it seems the only way to get a scholarship is to play travel ball. I have a 5th grader playing rec and I think she is pretty good. Can someone explain how the travel teams work and how many there are? Are there different levels of travel teams? Any info would help steer me in the right direction.

Thanks

I would say yes. I am sure there are some girls that may have recieved money through there school but my guess is that is few and far between.

Yes there are different levels, the higher level you play the more likely of getting a D1 scholarship. If you are going to play a high level you would have to travel quite a bit. There are teams in the NKY and cincinnati area that are ok, most of those girls end up going to D2 or D3 schools.

If you are looking for a team you could go to game-ex.com (ohio fastpitch connection) they have try out post for teams all over and at every level.
