Larry Allison steps down as George Rogers Clark baseball coach

Featured Replies

It is official, as reported on Ch 27, that Larry Allison is stepping down as the GRC baseball coach. There should be a article in the paper and I will post it as soon as they put it on line.

Thanks Coach Allison for all you have done for GRC baseball. :thumb:

Prep Baseball: Allison steps down after 14 seasons

The George Rogers Clark baseball team will be looking for a new coach after veteran skipper Larry¿Allison stepped down earlier this week.

Allison guided the team for 14 seasons and led the Cardinals to their first appearance in the state tournament in June. Clark lost to eventual state champion Central Hardin 9-0 in the opening round. Clark stunned Bourbon¿County to win the

10th Region title and earn a spot in the state tournament.

Clark County athletics director Ryan Noland confirmed Allison’s retirement this morning and said there’s no timetable to find his replacement.

Allison led the Cardinals to the 10th Region title in 2007 and endured the loss of his mother during the 40th District Tournament this season.

Noland said he wasn’t sure whether or not Allison would stay on as an assistant coach with the boys basketball team.

Wish him the best of luck no matter what he decides to do. He was a great coach and mentor to a lot of GRC Players.
