Conner had a three point lead after the first quarter at 15-12, Boone Took the lead at the 3:36 mark and it changed hands 3 times before Boone pulled away at the half 32-25. Boone County led by as many as 12-14 points but it got no further and Conner pulled within 3 points in the 4th quarter before Boone County hit on 9-13 free throws in the 4th quarter to pull away for the 68-57 final.

 

I told Coach Stamm after the game that I had seen him Coach some close games, but he pulled out all the stops tonight to give Boone County a scare.

 

Credit to Moss and Lydia Nash who accounted on my scorebook for 57 of the 68 points. Conner held Shrout to a free throw and no one else had more than 3 points in the game.

 

Conner has a young team and given the defensive effort they put on tonight, they will be a force in the next year or two to come.

 

Boone County advances to face Ryle again this year for the 33rd District Title.

Congrats to Boone moving forward. Congrats to Conner on a hard fought game against one of the 9th region powerhouses. To lead early and keep it close down the stretch says a lot about the heart of Conners players. Great job both teams.

It was a TEAM effort from Conner and good things are to come to this team with some really good young talent
