Brossart is winning 20-6 at about the end of the 1st qtr. Saunders has 7 pts in the first stanza.

Jones has 3 fouls in 1st qtr for Newport.

Trentman and Fardo both have a pair of fouls also early.

Nice start for the Stangs.

Newport scores first in 2nd, applies pressure and Andrew Merrill gets a bucket + 1 but misses the fT.

Newport down 20-10 now with the ball.

Newport has scored first 6 pts of 2nd qtr.

20-12 now Stangs timeout Code.

Jennings scores 22-12 now Stangs.

24-12 now Stangs on Dierig bucket.

26-12 now after Saunders scores his 9th point.

Ingram picks up 3rd foul for Newport.

Nate Verst at line shooting two. Hits 1/2 now 27-12.

Saunders converts 1 of 2 FT's now 28-12.

3 pointer for Travis Jones of Newport.

28-15 now with 4 min in half.

Jennings scores on assist from Verst. 30-15 now Stangs.

Jennings having a field night.....now has 10 pts in 1st half.

32-15 now......Newport has no answer.

I expect Highlands to meet Newport in the District and Towles/Stewart both to have great games.

35-15 on Dierig's 3 pointer.

Now the Stangs start putting in a couple younger players. Uebel checks in.

Carter scores for Newport over Jennings.

35-17 now 2.54 left in half

This might be the highest scoring I have seen out of Brossart but Newport does turn up the tempo of the game with their defense and pressing.

Fardo scores unmolested off Uebel assist.

37-17 Stangs now. Wow
