The George Rogers Clark girls basketball team returned home in successful fashion with a 63-39 rout over Mason County Monday night at Norton Gymnasium.

The Lady Cardinals, who won the National Guard Holiday Classic last week at Owensboro Catholic, showed no signs of a letdown following the Christmas break. Clark, playing its first home game since Dec. 10, won for the fourth time in a row against its 10th Region foe.

“Region wins are always good,” Clark coach Scott True said. “Mason (County) beat us last year and it was nice to come back and play well against them.”

Shamy Williams, who scored 19 points and hit five 3-pointers in the Lady Cards’ 68-63 win over Owensboro Catholic in the team’s previous encounter, continued her hot hand and tallied a career-high 20 points against the Lady Royals

Williams made eight of nine shots from the field to lead all scorers.
