“We didn’t play very well for three quarters, but we played awfully well in the fourth quarter,” he said. “We got it going late and we were able to put the game away. Our depth paid off and they were starting to wear down. The fourth quarter was probably the best in the eight quarters we’ve played this year.”

The Lady Cardinals (1-1) trailed 47-36 going into the fourth frame, but scored the first nine points of the quarter to take the lead for good. Martha Layne trimmed the margin to three, but back-to-back 3-pointers by Kelsie Parido and Shamy Williams paid big dividends down the stretch for Clark.

“Those threes were big for us,” True said.

Overall, Clark outscored Martha Layne Collins 21-7 in the fourth quarter.

Preshia Rogers, who dished out the two assists to Williams and Parido, led Clark in scoring with 11 points, followed by Willams with 10. Taylor Kindred just missed double figures with seven points.

How can you trail going into the 4th quarter by the same score that you won the game by????

Mis-print in paper I assume.
