Also, from host Al Mayo:

Hey folks--it's been great using all the nominees week after week on the show, and we'll continue to use them for the foreseeable future.

I wanted to remind you of a couple things. When you nominate a player, I need his height, weight, and class designation (Freshman, Sophomore, Etc).

I also need the stats to be correct. Just telling me it looked like he ran for over a hundred yards won't do it.

Please include all pertinent numbers like carries, pass attempts, completions, yardage gained, number of tackles--you all understand what I need.

Otherwise, I have to track these numbers down. Not that I mind doing the legwork, but I normally save this part of the show for last, so I can take nominees until the last possible hour, so I just don't have the time to look it all up. I'll usually pull the information from here by Thursday afternoon, so try to have your candidates nominated by about 2:00pm Thursdays.

I couldn't be happier with the information you've all provided, and I'm looking forward to continuing our association with BGP!

:D

Posts: 19 BGP/KNN Player Of The Week

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To absolutely no one's surprise, last week's winner was Paintsville junior quarterback Daniel Pugh. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Pugh accounted for 10 touchdowns -- five rushing, four passing and one punt return -- as the Tigers won a shootout with visiting Evarts 71-40 in the opening round of the Class A playoffs Friday. Pugh completed 13 of 17 passes for 292 yards and threw two TD passes apiece to Kevin Williams and T.J. Freno. He rushed 13 times for 264 yards with touchdowns of 21, 38, 55, 58 and 73 yards. He had a 45-yard punt return for a TD. He totaled 601 yards of total offense. He also had 10 Tackles on defense.

Submit your nominees for this week's winner starting right now!

Posts: 35 Mark me down a vote for Cory Farris as well. Not only did he post those impressive numbers, but it was against a, what was heard to be, great rush defense.

Hayden gets it this week - A HUGE game in a BIG-GAME situation - LCA redeemed itself from last years spanking!

Hayden at LCA also had 5 tackles and two pass break-ups on the defensive side of the ball...

I think this award is for performances for last Friday's game ONLY - not cumulative for post-season play...If I am wrong, then we can go and pull up Haydens performance in the win over HolyCross - 2TD's and 134 Yds Rushing.

Posts: 9,801 It looks like Hayden put up some very impressive numbers.

Can someone get a hold of stats for Burke (Lex Cath) & Ellison (Cov Cath)? Obviously Burke should get the nod, since he led his team to victory, but I'd love to see both stats.

Posts: 9,801 I just looked them up myself.

Justin Burke (Lex Cath) was 14-28 for 370 yards and 5 TD's. 3 of those 5 were in the 2nd half. He did throw 2 INT's, but carried the ball 9 times for 97 yards, and 1 TD.

Drew Ellison threw for 153 yards & 1 TD, while rushing the ball 21 times for 100 yards & 2 TD's.

Two very fine players that had very good games, but I give the nod to Burke.
