Final from Somerset. The Briar Jumpers dominated this one from the outset. Somerset led 49-7 at halftime with Russell County's touchdown coming on a kickoff return. Somerset scored on the opening drive of the 2nd half to get a running clock. The Lakers scored a couple of 2nd half touchdowns on Somerset's reserves. Nice all-around game for the Briar Jumpers heading into next week's showdown with Danville. Erik Manning was outstanding at quarterback for the Briar Jumpers. I don't have the stats but he had to have close to 300 yards passing in the first half.

Jumpers looked really good tonight. Next week will be a great match up between old rivals. I look forward to the showdown in Danville.
