3A North Oldham (1-1) travels to Louisville to play 2A Christian Academy of Louisville (1-1)

North welcomes RB Zach Evans back to its lineup, after he went out early in the first quarter in last week's 26-7 loss to 5A Jeffersontown.

 

Who wins and why?

No comments? I'm curious about CAL; they've played two IN schools. How are the Centurions looking?

Well Mike I guess we are the sole voices of the North representation ?

Based on what I saw in the J.V. game Monday I'm going to give the win to North. CAL always has some some hard working dedicated kids but I doubt they will have enough athletes to keep up with the Mustangs. Ironically it's much the same feeling I had looking at the North game last week with J-Town. I thought North played hard and was tough in the trenches but J-Town had a few guy's we just could not and did not match up with.

 

Can't wait for this game because frankly I still do not know how to size up the Mustangs this year.

The Moore game was so much a runaway train you almost have to throw it out as a barometer and the J-Town team was likely unlike any 3A team North will see so it's hard to come away with a good comparison from that either.

This will be a much more accurate barometer for North as CAL is more like many of the 3A teams North will face. For North fans, the big CAL front line will be a factor; CAL's QB is a three-year starter and an excellent passer. If the Mustangs can't get pressure, it could be a long night.

 

On the other hand, CAL has to show they can track down North's speedy backs.

I think it will be a good game. I haven't seen North play yet this year, but I have heard they do indeed have some speedy backs. I saw both of the CAL games against the much bigger Indiana teams. The first game was winnable but execution errors seemed to plague the Centurions and they lost 27-7 I believe. The second game looked much more polished and was executed better and ended as a good 36-13 win. I agree that CAL has a good line and the QB has some great abilities as a runner and a passer. Should be a great game to watch!
