Early on, looked to be a good game. FS went 3 and out on first possession. Russellville drove down the field, but fumbled inside the 5 and returned by FS for a TD. Next play after the kickoff, Russellville has a TD pass called back (ineligible man downfield). FS took advantage, scoring 21 more points to take 28-0 lead. Russellville scored right before the half to make it 28-7, but once QB Quarles started cramping in the 3rd, it was over.

 

#5 RB Whitmere for FS looked good, carrying 11 times for 106 and 2 TD's. #4 WR Whitmere (related?) had TD run and reception, plus 2 long punt returns. Overall, FS looked pretty good.

 

Russellville struggled after their first drive of the game. They are starting several freshman and sophmores, but still didn't play horrible. They really do need to work on tackling, however. They gave up 21 points due to poor tackling.

#5 and #4 (Wickware BTW) are cousins. Jarrell (#4) and Darius (#5). Jarrell was the better of the two, and they could scarcely stop him. His TD run was absolutely sick. Took a huge shot, bounced off, took another one, then went 40 yards for the score.

Both Wickwares impressed me DF. And I like their QB. He doesn't strike me as the type who can win you a ballgame, but he won't lose you one.

 

This is a team I will be keeping an eye on........
