The Good: Coach Krumps earns his 24th consecutive season of 20 or more victories! Brady Reese going 3/4 (single, double triple) 3 runs scored and 1 rbi and Matt Klein coming in to get the victory.

The Bad and Ugly: Some brain dead base running but nothing else.

Pee Wee's Place Offensive play of the game: Bottom of the seventh score tied 5-5.

CovCath Brady Resse is up and on a 2-0 county Brady hits a stand up Double. Man on second no outs and Warning is up. Of course Krumps goes small ball to move Reese to third but after a very good bunt by Warning the NCC player throws the ball away and Reese comes home on the sac bunt error for the CovCath victory.

BAWAC Inc. Defensive play of the game: NCC top of the 4th score 2-0 CovCath. Hightchew hits a double, followed by a double by Cain who drives in Hightchew. No outs 1 run in. Schowalter hits the ball back to the CovCath pitcher who tries to throw out the runner at third but the tag is late and everybody is safe. Men on first and third and no outs. Kelly hits a ball to Siemer at secnond who turns and throws the ball to Stein who goes to first with the DP but a NCC run scores to tie the game at 2-2.

Grubers Grill stars of the game: Coach Bill Krumpelbeck, Brady Reese and Matt Klei

CovCath improves their record to 20-11 and next plays St. Henry @ St. Henry on Wednesday May 12th weather permitting.

Congrats to the boys for keeping the 20-win streak alive.

The two most eye-popping aspects of the game to me were the pop of Reese's bat and the arm on Highchew(sp?). Easily the best arm I've seen in quite a while.

Who pitched for NCC?

Doyle - decent pitcher - solid breaking ball.

Doyle - decent pitcher - solid breaking ball.

Doyle (L) 67pitches 29 PA 10 hits 6 runs 5 earned runs 1 walk and 0 K's

As Clyde said, he had a solid breaking ball which made his fast ball seem even faster.

Solid day at the plate by: Hightchew who had a single in the 1st, double in the 4th and a single in the 5th, while scoring a run and driving in two rbi's

Always a good game when these two schools compete in any sport.

If I understand the rules correctly CovCath will have to cancel a few of the regular season games in order not to surpass the 36 game limit. That is assuming of course that Mother nature doesn't cancel them first.

Note: Shumate only allowed 4 runs all earned and Klein gave up 1 run it also was a earned run.

Note: CovCath game on Wednesday with St. Henry has been canceled as has the CovCath game on Saturday vs. Louisville Male at Ryle!

CovCath weather permitting, will play Cov Holy Cross in an all important 35th District seeding game at HC on Thursday May 13th and Dixie at Dixie on Friday May 14th.
