Mattie Klein hits his second HR of the season with two on and earns himself two more hits of which one was a double. Mattie was three for four with a walk, while scoring 2 runs and knocking in four.

Pee Wee's Place Offensive play of the game: CovCath top of the third and CovCath is losing 2-0. Siemer leads off with a rocket hit right down the third base line for a single. Man on first, no outs. Warning lays down a sac bunt but the bunt is so good, that even with the third baseman playing in and everybody on the Newport team knowing he is bunting, Newport has no play on him at first. Men on second and third no outs. Klein then hits a a double to knock in Siemer for the CovCath first run of the game and now still with no outs, CovCath has runner on second and third. Lankheit hits a hard ball for a 4-3 out but gets a rbi by knocking in Warning. Reese who is CR for Klein moves to third on the play and he goes home on Gerwe double. CovCath is now leading 3-2 to end their top of the third.

BAWAC Inc. defensive play of the game: In the bottom of the second and Newport is pumped after scoring two runs on CovCath in the first and then holding CovCath to no runs in the first and second innings. Number #34 hitting in the seventh spot hits a rocket that looks like a sure fire base hit over the SS head but Stein jumps and grabs it out of the air, for the first out and from then on, Newport only gets one runner on and that was via a walk in the 4th inning.

I heard that Dan Shumate will be playing for the 16u KY Colonels this year. That team is getting loaded with CovCath players.

Don't know about Dan but have been told by Tom Arzen that the U-16 Kentucky Colonels will indeed be loaded with CovCath 10th graders! Guess I will be watching the U-16 team a lot this summer. Should be a fun summer.

I also heard that Brian Fagel might be playing with the U-16's this year. This summer should be great for "team unity!"

The smile on his face as he PH yesterday, was worth a million dollars. While he didn't get a hit, considering he hasn't touched a bat in two or so weeks, he did hit the ball hard. I am sure he will be hitting a lot (BP) at school over the weekend!
