The Brossart Mustangs jumped out to a 1-0 early lead, but that would be the lone run produced by our guys on the hilltop in Cynthiana on this afternoon. Mustang starter, sophomore Zach Fardo was victimized for 6 runs in three innings of work, including a 5 run Harrison County third inning. Jake Ollier gave the Mustangs good relief innings, and Ian Hehman came in and closed out the game effectively, pitching out of a bases loaded, one out situation that he inherited from Ollier. A line drive double play ball to shortstop Jared Hahn prevented any further damage.

The Mustangs produced one run on four hits on the afternoon. Two of those hits were singles by David Greis and Trevor Bezold, and I did not hear who had our other two hits. The Mustangs left two runners on base as opposed to eleven stranded by the home team. Harrison County starter Christian Chasteen went the distance for the Breds who are just back from a Spring Break trip to Las Vegas where they played the top baseball teams in the nation. They are presently ranked second in the Commonwealth and improve to 10-2 on the season, while the Mustangs fall to 11-3. Chasteen retired the final 13 Mustangs batters to face him.

The Mustangs will be idle on Wednesday prior to hosting Augusta on Thursday in the opening round of the 10th Region All "A" Classic which we have won in all six renewals of the event.

Glad to see Harrison get a win against a good Brossart team. Harrison is mentally and physically drained right now. After playing 4 games in a row in Vegas, arrive in Cynthiana late Sunday night, go to school, practice from 7-10:30 last night, go to school and play tonight, they are worn out. Glad to see they fought through it and got a good win. Bishop Brossart has a very nice team this year. It doesnt get any easier for the Breds as they travel to Mason County tomorrow night. Then they travel to Greenup friday night for two games and one on Saturday and then Saturday night is Prom night for the juniors are seniors.
