Who is coaching the polar bats this year? What all do they have returning?:idunno:

Chris Yelton will coach Bracken Co. again this year. The Bears will be a young team again this year, but should be improved over the last couple of years. They will be led by junior Andrew Cummins and sophmore Josh Cummins.

From what I have read they will only be able to beat Deming and Augusta. St. Pat has improved somewhat in the district.

What I have read has been mostly on these boards, not newspapers. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell that this team only beat Augusta and St.Patrick last season and are basically the same returning team. Who do you have them having a chance of beating on this year's schedule besides Deming,Augusta and St. Patrick? I would love to see them go 12-12 or somewhere along those lines.

As this is the only thread that mentions Bracken Co. , I just wanted to know where you got your information. Rocket scientist or not this will not be the same team as last year. Last years team had very little experience. There will be several talented freshmen on this years team that will help fill last years holes. These freshman will have more baseball experience than many of last years starters. Since it is only Feb. 23 I don't know who they will beat and you do not either, but this will be an improved team. So why don't you wait until at least May to give your negative outlook on the season. Give the kids a Break!!!!

Polar Cat I agree with what you said but regardless of their experience, freshmen playing varsity baseball will not be up to par as far as hitting goes. Fielding is another story though.

I agree totally, but I'm still comparing last years team to this year and this year will be an improvement. I know the freshman will struggle with the bat but I believe there are 2 or 3 that will be able to hold their own. Defense should be much better.
