Nice victory for Oldham. If the Lady Colonels make their layups, they win this one going away... Congrats to Coach Mullins' crew for a good defensive effort on Bryant in the first half, when the North star couldn't get the ball in scoring position.

 

Kudos to Nancy Martin's crew, who simply wouldn't go away despite falling behind from the onset of the game. Bryant did what a great player does after a bad first half; she re-grouped, and took over the game offensively for the Lady 'Stangs in the second half.

 

Oldham won despite leading scorer Emily Melton suffering through perhaps her worst shooting night of the year. Melton - one of the state's top three-point shooters - was held to seven points, about half her average, and did not hit a single three.

 

Very intense, very high-octane game played in front of an enthusiastic crowd from both sides. Congrats to both teams, who are likely to meet again as the #2 and #3 seeds in the first round of the 29th district tournament.

North can still forge a three-way tie for first by winning out, assuming no upset in the South-Trimble game. In the event of a three-way tie, I believe the tiebreaker in the 29th is still season-ending LITKENHOUS ratings, which would currently favor South.
