North Oldham 84 Spencer County 70

Up-and-down affair in Goshen tonight...aggressive offenses...not so great defenses...

North up by 12 early in the second period, but Spencer fought back vs. the North reserves. North led, 39-37, at the half. Although the Bears never led in the game, they pulled to within 2 on several occasions during the third period.

Spencer was playing without Thacker, who won't join the team until after Christmas, and only played 7 players. North - who always goes deep on the bench - played 14 players. At times, the Mustang subs played like subs and helped Spencer rally. But the pace of the game wore the Bears down.

North led, 65-59, after three, but dominated the fourth, outscoring the Bears, 19-11 to win pulling away, 84-70. Biggest lead in the fourth was 16.

The two teams combined for 140 shots...(unofficial stats)

Player Notes:

- Devon Rowan, the 6'7" 245 pound sophomore center for North, continues to impress. After struggling to stay out of foul trouble last year, and enduring a horrible season at the line, Rowan has put together two very good games for North this year, scoring 12 points and grabbing 9 rebounds against top 10 Tates Creek, with one foul, then scoring 19 points and grabbing a game-high 12 boards vs. Spencer. He was 7 of 10 at the line vs. Spencer and had no personal fouls.

Alex Foley - after a sub-par outing vs. Tates Creek, Foley hit 4 of 7 shots in the first half (including 2 of 3 threes) in the first half vs. Spencer for 12 points. He did not take a shot in the third, but took advantage of the Bears' tiring legs with several runouts in the fourth, when he scored fourteen points. He finished with 26 points and 4 rebounds.

North bench - contributed 25 points and 12 rebounds.

Logan Dunbar - the talented junior forward for Spencer County is averaging 28 ppg this season, and hit that mark tonight, although he was "held" to just six rebounds. He looked good in all phases of the game tonight, though, and hit 13 of 23 shots.

Exciting game; great effort from both teams!! Kudos to both!!
