Oldham County 27 Fairdale 12

Featured Replies

The strong running game trumps the strong passing game in this one.

Oldham County had approx. 350 yards on the ground on 30 carries... Fairdale took opening drive and drove inside OC 30, but turned over the ball on an interception; OC took three plays to go 75 yards for the score, with Joel Hennings hitting Kiley Obradovich with 27 yard WR screen pass for the score.

Fairdale went 3 and out, and the snap to the punter was muffed; OC taking over at the Bulldog 25; Tyler Oldham blasted 25 yards up the middle on the very next play and Oldham led, 13-0, less than 4 minutes in.

Fairdale had a chance to score before the half, driving inside the Oldham 15 with less than 30 seconds left, but Antonio Brown-Campbell ran back an interception 91 yards for the score with 5.8 seconds to play. 20-0 at the half.

The Bulldogs threw for over 330 yards, but never got a credible running game going. Oldham County kept pressure on the QB all night, and prevented running plays from even getting started.

Fairdale, favored by most in the game, came out of the locker room very agitated, and several little extracurricular skirmishes broke out throughout the second half.

Oldham QB Joel Hennings - who has looked very good at times this young season - struggled, hitting just 1 of 6 passes. His last three were all intercepted (although one was intercepted on a tipped ball). Still, the Colonels didn't need the passing game to win easily. Star WR Chase Hamby only had one touch; a carry on an end-around.
