Great ballgame. Trinity's lone run came on an errant throw to 2nd that allowed a Trinity baserunner to score from third. Curtis McCombs, who was coming off 2 days rest pitched great for Ballard and went the distance. John Rueff pitched excellent for Trinity going all 7 and battled out of a bases-loaded 1 out jam in the 6th for the Rocks. Trinity advances to play Anderson County in the semi-state at Eastern High School starting Monday I believe.

Ballard put some guys on base in the final innings but Trinity managed to hold with great pitching and defense when they needed it. Truly it was a well-pitched game on both sides and if not for Ballard's lone fielding error in the second, it would still have been 0-0 after the seventh. In fact, I would say that Ballard's pitcher was more dominant given that Trinity had real trouble even getting guys on base. Incredible win for the Rocks.

McCombs has signed with NCAA Division 1 Louisville. Rueff has signed with NAIA Georgetown College. Baseball is a game where one play can make the difference.
