Final from Somerset in the 47th District Finals. Somerset jumped ahead 5-0 after one inning. The Rockets narrowed it to 5-4 in the top of the 5th but the Jumpers got 2 in the 5th and 2 more in the 6th to close it out. Senior Scott Spears pitched all 7 innings for the win. Sophmore Taylor Sears had a double, single and 2 RBIs and freshman Jarred Price hit his 4th homerun of the season for the Briar Jumpers. Jeremy Toohey, Aaron Dockery and Otie Manning made the All-District team for Somerset. The Briar Jumpers will take a 21-5 record into next week's 12th Region Tourney. Rockcastle drops to 16-11. Congrats Jumpers!

Perhaps they aren't used to the ball being put in play when Perkins isn't pitching. Somerset also had 3 errors in the Rockets 2-run 5th inning so I guess it was 6-3 Jumpers as far as earned runs go. Either way Somerset was the better team tonight, as well as on the season. No doubt, Rock has the best player in Perkins but they are NOT the best team. :thumb: It takes 9.
