Somerset broke a scoreless tie in the 3rd inning on an RBI double from sophmore firstbaseman Colby Hall, an RBI single from senior centerfielder Jeremy Toohey and a sacrifice fly from sophmore secondbaseman Taylor Sears. Wayne County got 2 in the the top of the 4th on a 2 run homer by their firstbaseman Bell. The Cardinals tied it in the top of the 6th on a solo shot by Boston. The Briar Jumpers then scored what proved to be the winning run in the bottom of the 6th when Freshman catcher Storm Wilson doubled home junior thirdbaseman Otie Manning. Freshman Jarred Price got the start on the mound for Somerset. He went 4 innings and left with a 3-2 lead. Senior Aaron Dockery came on and allowed 1 run in 2 innings but picked up the win when the Jumpers went ahead 4-3 in the 6th. Senior Scott Spears came on in the 7th and struck out all 3 batters he faced for the save. Somerset is now 15-4 on the season and 10-1 in the 12 Region. Wayne County drops to 14-9.
