CovCath 13 Cooper 6

 

I am taking the boss out to dinner, so won't really have anything more until much later tonight or tomorrow.

 

To those who still don't think Ryan Darner is a D1 college baseball prospect, I submit the following. RD hit a HR (#3 370) with two on in the first. He hit another HR (#4 370) with one on in the 4th. He also had two singles and two additional rbi's. So that 4/4 today (two singles two HR's) and count them boy's and girls seven rbi's.

 

Off the top of my head that's 21 or 22 RBI's in the last six games against Bishop Brossart, Conner, Boone, Cooper and Cov Holy Cross.

 

Maile walked twice and hit his first HR (#1 330) of the season with no one on.

 

Helmer got the win and went 5 2/3 innings followed by Schlagbaum who pitched 1 1/3 innings.

I believe the Colonels pitcher was Hellman, not Helmer.

The good: Darner! What a afternoon of baseball he had. It was also nice seeing the young sophomore Michael Hellman pitch so well. True he did give up six runs to Cooper, but this was the young mans first varsity experience and I am sure he had some major butterfly. Again the CovCath "D" lead by Holocher and Siemer. What a joy it is to see these two middle midfielders play with such passion and with Maile playing third today, WOW.... Some colleges don't have the "D" that the Colonels presently has playing.

CovCath is now 12-0 and will play St. Henry at 10am in the Doc Morris Wooden bat tourney.

 

 

 

 

The bad & ugly: Really nothing at all as CovCath only left 4 on base today and played very well.

 

I must say, for a first year program Cooper impressed me with their bats today. Keep up your heads gentlemen you all played well today.
