Game Recap: In their first home game of the season, the Lady Jaguars faced a competitive Madison Central team on Thursday. It wasn't until the bottom of the 5th that North Laurel broke into the scoring column. In the meantime, North's Megan Taylor scattered three hits, while striking out 11 and walking none on her way to another shutout. In the bottom of the 5th, Brandi Gay singled to lead the inning off. Courtney Brock then pushed a slap past the second baseman to put runners on first and second. Megan Taylor then layed down a sacrifice bunt, moving Vanessa Smith (running for Gay) to third and Brock to second. Smith was able to score on a wild pitch for a 1-0 lead and then Rachel Akins lined a shot to center scoring Brock for the 2-0 lead. Two insurance runs were added in the bottom of the 6th as Carrie Root led the inning off with a double to left. Blake Johnson came in to pinch run and advanced to third on a groundout to the right side by Meagan Bryant. Haley Herrell then delivered an RBI single to right putting the Jags up 3-0. Sidney Herrell was inserted to run for her sister and stole second and third on the next two pitches. Courtney Brock then delivered a line shot to the left side, scoring Herrell for the final 4-0 margin.
