Do they post any high schools stats on any websites in Northern Kentucky? Someone also mentioned on BGP that they saw stats in the newspaper. Which one? I am sure it is all predicated on each school submitting the stats from each of their teams.

The Enquirer ran some stats this week but not all schools had theirs in there. I know CCH did not report their stats.

I have a problem with the way some coaches use stats. I don't think that they are often used to bring out the best in players. For instance, I think that looking at how a player is hitting the ball and whether the player is having good at bats is better than emphasizing stats. Too, some coaches by emphasizing stats create more tension for the batter. One ball hit could be a grounder up the middle that gets in for a hit and another similar ball is caught for an out. A blooper falls in for a hit and a line shot is caught. Too, I think a greater emphasis is to help the batter maximize his at bats. It is as if some coaches claim superiority by analyzing stats without knowing how to help a batter hit better.

I don't disagree with with your points above and specifically a coach pointing out only batting average as the only criteria on how a player is hitting.

 

I was just curious to look at how all the boys around NKY were doing, and in particular who was off to hot starts.

I don't know any coaches that emphasize stats. They do emphasize wins though.

 

I know coaches that emphasize both, though wins do take priority over stats.
