If a game is called in the top of the third, do you begin in the top of the third when you reschedule? Posted the same question in the softball forum, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think you have to get through 3 1/2 innings before you can start the makeup game from where you left off. If it is the top of the 3rd I think you have to restart the entire game.

Section 13 I of the tournament rules for Fast pitch softball says, if a game is interrupted in tournament play or in regular season play and is subsequently to be completed it will be rest at the same point, same ininning, same out or outs, same balls and strikes, same batter or number of batter in the batting order.

 

 

In the NFHS Rule softball book 4-2-4 says if a game is called before completion of the number of innings (4.5 or 5) and conditions as specificed in 4-2-2, the umpire shall declare the contest "no game" unless play is terminated by 4-2-3.
